2014 Grade 3 Cheonjae 3 - Review 1

This is a speaking game which requires the cards in the back of the book on page 29.
The ppt attached are instructions on how to play the game. Grade 3 students have a really low level of English hence the visual aid will help them understand better.

1) Rip the 8 picture cards from page 29 out.
2) If your students are sitting in rows, one row will stay seated and the other row will get up and move.
3) First with the person sitting next to you. Play rock paper scissors.
4) Winner gets a present and the loser gives the present.
5) The student who lost says: Happy Birthday! This is for you.
                                        W: What's this?
                                           : It's a __________.
                                        W: Thank you.
                                           : You're welcome.
6) Move to the next seat and play again.
7) Student with the most cards win.

A knock-out or survivor game.

Each student draws a number and keeps it secret.  In turn, students choose a sentence (unrelated to their number) to say aloud. The student who has his or her number revealed gives their number back to the teacher and is out of the game (they still have to choose a sentencee where their turn comes). The last one(s) to still have a number are the winners.  Instructions are on the ppt.  You need to print out and cut up the slide with the numbers on.

A PPT group review game that was provided by another user, I changed some content to match the level of what is being taught in the textbook since the students can't read sentences yet and I replaced the old textbook images with new ones. Enjoy!

Thanks so much for sharing this! Can you explain how you used this or how you plan to use it in your class? Will the class be in two teams or small groups, taking turns answering questions for points? I thought 2 groups would be easiest, but most of the class would not be actively involved so maybe small groups for this one. Thanks!

Since the school year is slowly coming to an end, I have been taking the time to try and find videos that I think my third graders would like. Here is one that is about Summertime and it has some valuable vocabulary that kids should know.
