6 word stories
« on: December 11, 2015, 02:40:43 AM »
Made this lesson last week and was surprised by the positive reaction from my students. I was kind of worried that they wouldn't respond well to it bu they did so I decided to share it.

I introduced the topic by creating a discussion based on some perplexing questions. Then I led into the idea of 6 word stories. Students were asked to develop the stories presented and to share their thoughts and feelings about he stories.

Next they wrote their own 6 word stories and shared it with the class. They discussed their stories in groups before finally posting their stories to the class blog. Finally I set a homework activity for the students to develop their stories further.

This looks so interesting! Thanks for the brilliant idea.

I haven't made any materials yet, but I was thinking of doing something similar with my middle schoolers at camp. Two sentence horror stories, like this one by Frederic Brown:

The last man on Earth sat alone in his room. There was a knock at the door.
