If they enjoy debating, let them do it.  Just skip their post if you don't want to search for deeper psychological/sociological issues in topics.  That type of analysis interests some.

You're right... I guess I just don't understand debating for the sake of debate.  ^^;  I'll try harder to skip over things.

I think gender debates usually rile a lot of people up--it's a pretty personal topic that no one can really get away from since we all have some form of gender identity.  To me it's just natural to analyze things like this when living in a different culture--part of what makes the experience worthwhile to me--and sometimes being online facilitates this better than sitting around a galbi grill.

Like everything its OK in a bit of moderation, although I could see how it could be annoying for girls of other cultures

I think its all relates to how you were brought up and what your personal value system is.

I was brought up by a strong mother who supported us and worked really hard to ensure that we were provided for.

Therefore I like strong, gutsy brave women who have overcame adversity.

So it goes without saying that I find the average Korean Princess a little bit sickening.  Not all Korean females are Princesses and I've had some good friends over the years.  Most of them have travelled or lived overseas or at least have a strong desire to do so.

I agree.  Being a woman who acts like a woman is 10X better than being a woman who tries to act like a man.  It's more fun, and it takes less energy.... since you're just being you. :D

What does it mean to be a 'woman' that 'acts like a woman'. Here is my problem with some of the debates on this thread. Many people are making all these preconceived notions that there is set standard of what it means to be a woman. Th reality of the situation woman are beings like men. And we have different personalities and characteristics. Some women are more adventurous, others are more earthy, others are more sporty or flirty or etc. Women have DIFFERENT Personalities. And when some women choose to EXPRESS those personalities people, both men or women, say 'we act like a man'. That is BS and such an oversimplification. Although we are all an individuals connected to each other, each person has an inner calling/spirit even women.  Using the word feminine in such a restrictive understanding fails to take into account women who march to a different beat. Women like this fight against the restrictive of femininity because it many women feel shame or marginalized for being themselves because does not fit into the mode. Many women walk around not embracing their complete inner being because they may be viewed as being manish and not feminine enough. Femininity is more than actions or body parts. And femininity should not be a ball and chain to woman searching for their path in this life. Our paths are more than just being a pleasing eye candy or a good time in men's life.
