So I teach at a low level technical high school, where my job more than anything is to pique their interest in English. So I try to adapt the mindless crap that I troll the internet for, into an interesting English lesson that will keep my kids awake.
In this case, the 'Asian Moms' series from Buzzfeed has been a real winner. It should be noted that my classes consist of 90% boys, and teaching this was no issue - don't underestimate the lads eh.
Just some fashion and shopping vocab, followed by the video, a discussion, and then some time for them to put down their opinions on the featured fashion 'make-unders'
Try asking them what they think their parents would buy for them if they were given the opportunity to do the same. It's a bit of a larf.
Go forth and educate in controlled chaos.
