Video Challenge
« on: June 22, 2017, 10:26:13 AM »
This is my first post, and first Video Challenge.
Took me a while, but I am going to try and create more.  These are so much fun and the kids love them!

I hope it works well for everyone.  Any problems, please let me know.

Thanks to everyone who posts and provides valuable activities for everyone to share.
This place has been quite valuable to me.  Thank you!

FILE link has been removed.
Hopefully can find somewhere else to share for free.

Side note - I put the answers at the end of each section because when I do these in class, I often run out of time near the end.  So, I figured just to answer the questions at the end of each section.
Easy enough to move the slides around then.

Also, I am guessing that there are no problems, as no one has posted any thus far.

Busy making my next one!
Any suggestions are welcome, I am trying to make them current videos.  Only problem I have come acrossed is trying to find music videos that do not have bad words AND are suitable for kids of most ages.  Quite tough!

This is great! I was trying to think of some appropriate videos (very challenging for sure). This one isn't 'official' but is student friendly - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NTWXdrX-qc

Thanks for making them :)

Just a heads up, the opening seen of the Maroon 5 song, is quick, but there are a few items on the table that might not be appropriate.  I missed the first time through.

You can just trim the first part off easily in the ppt file before using in class.

Sorry about that.

The videos are not working for me. I'll have to edit the powerpoint and put them on again. For the music part, did you show whole music video or just clips?

The music videos, I just used the firt minute and a half.
For the trailers, I used all of them.

You might be using an older version or ppt or need to update codex to run.
I just used VLC and no problems.

Thank you so much! I've used this all week after the exam period! My boys are always super into it and it doesn't take much explanation for even lower level classes! Great job!

This looks great! I want to use it but I am technologically challenged and can't fix my problems. Help

When I open the google drive link, it says "Whoops, can't preview the document, it's too big."
So I "download anyway"
At first, the video files didn't work. A message said "there is no quicktime" in Korean.
So, I downloaded quicktime.
Now, the videos show up but they are too choppy to actually watch.

Can someone tell me how to download this as a zip file or how to use another player? I've been at this for a few days on 3 different computers. haha.  :-[

I'm using VLC and then maybe have it set to play those types of files with VLC.
Works like a charm on my end.
