Has anybody used We Bare Bears as an end of the semester video? I was thinking about showing 2 or 3 episodes with Korean subtitles and maybe having my students color or do some activity pages (I have first and second graders in an after school program). Any suggestions?

I love the idea of we bare bears lesson ideas and found that the website had good episodes. I had to do a last minute lesson with this so 'bear' with my lesson idea/worksheet.

First, I explained the elements of a story: characters, setting, problem, solution, lesson(main idea/plot).
My coteacher helped me explain this in korean and I did it for the 6th grade class so they should know these elements in Korean.

After that, I told them to think about these elements while watching the episode.

You can pause throughout the episode to check their understanding and give them clues to answer the questions.

Make groups and in their groups answer the questions in the worksheet.

I also had to give them clues about the problem. (Chloe, baby, trying, brave ~ the problem is that Chloe is trying to be brave but the bears and Chloe's dad won't let her. They treat her like a baby -- kind of complicated but if they think of something else, its fine--I actually encourage them to think of the ideas but my coteacher wanted to know the real answer).

There may not be a lot of time leftover to take up the answer but I tried to answer the questions so they can answer in English.

And thats it. Simple and time filler for extra lessons/time.

I think one of the bears speaks Korean so the kids were pleasantly surprised to see that they have some representation in the English version of the cartoon.
