Hello,
- This advertisement is for English native speakers working in, or with experience of having worked in, higher education in Korea (college or university)We are a professional English corrections business with over 100 students. Every day Korean students send us short English diaries by email and we correct the English and also provide Korean feedback.
We require a new member of staff to help with the workload. The work involves correcting short English diaries (or similar) from Monday to Friday, for one or two hours per day. Although the timing is flexible, someone who can do the work earlier rather than later in the day is desired. Ideally all corrections should be finished by 5pm.
The job is a part time job, maybe 5-10 hours per week at first, with the possibility of more work later. The pay depends on the speed you work, but we pay 900원 per diary corrected, which works out at around 18,000원 per hour. The benefit of this work is you can do it anywhere, you don't need to commute or wear smart clothes or anything like that. It is possible to do this during your free periods at work, evening time, even while travelling if you have a device with an internet connection.
The job does not have anything like a contract or healthcare etc., but you will be paid by bank transfer weekly (or PayPal is possible if you do not have a Korean bank account), and of course you do not need to make any contributions on this. Think of it as an informal side job.
Qualifications:
- English native speaker working in, or with experience of having worked in, higher education in Korea (college or university). This is non-negotiable due to the name of the service students pay for.
- Teaching experience in Korea.
Desired qualifications / skills:
- Korean language ability is a major advantage due to the understanding of mistakes Korean students make, and also many students add Korean explanations to their English diaries. If you have a TOPIK (or similar) certificate at any level this will be a huge advantage.
- If you are located in Korea or at least in a similar time zone this is very helpful to allow quick communication.
Interested applicants should send a CV with brief cover email (no letter required) to
teaandenglish99@gmail.com, detailing relevant qualifications and skills. Shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete several example corrections to show ability and correction style. And in case you are wondering, this isn't a sneaky way to get you to do free work. All shortlisted applicants will be sent the same examples. We may also do a phone or Skype interview.
This is a registered business in Korea, we aren't interested in wasting your time.
Thanks in advance.
