Experienced teacher looking for challenging uni job
« on: September 19, 2017, 02:41:02 PM »
Hi Everyone!

I am an instructor in my 6th year of teaching in Korea.  I have 2 years of hagwon teaching and three and a half years of university teaching.  I'm looking for a university job that allows me independence and responsibility for how I design my classes, as well as the ability to really challenge my students.

I'm highly energetic and organized, and love making new materials.  I'm currently writing and pilot testing a 30 unit (3-5 hours each) conversation textbook for high intermediate to advanced students.  This book will cover topics from fun stuff like travel, fashion, and tattoos to more serious ones like Brexit, populism, climate change, and minority rights.   In addition, I am in the planning stages of a textbook for beginner and intermediate students.

In addition to the background on my resume, I have also done university courses on developing oral skills, reading and writing skills, and course design.  I have left this off my resume due to it not constituting a full teaching certificate.  In addition, I have continued professional development and learning about teaching with a study group in my city, and am planning on pursuing an MA in TESOL after the completion of my textbooks.

If I seem like the teacher for you, I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks,

Michael
