Guess Who game - for describing people.
« on: May 11, 2011, 06:12:47 PM »
This is a PPT game based on the classic children's board game, 'Guess Who?'. I've shamlessly ripped off the name, but I doubt I'll be getting a call from Waddingtons or whoever.

I created the game for my descriptions class, which is first grade middle school. I'm sure this could be used for higher elementary too.

Anyway, just open the attached ppt file and run the slide show. Check out the 'rules' and 'teacher controls' sections first, and then play the game. Everything is explained in the PPT, but if I've missed anything, then please let me know.

Oh yes, and I do apologise for the lack of ethnic diversity in the characters - the website I found to create them didn't have the appropriate options, so all the characters are white. Also, you may notice that there are no skirts or dresses which is a bit annoying if you're introducing clothing.

I hope this is helpful.

There should be a link at the bottom of my initial post. In blue with a paperclip next to it.

I have attached a ppt that teaches descriptions such as: she has blonde hair, he is wearing glasses etc. I have tried to keep it simple and there is a simple game to play as well.

Thanks so much for the game and all the hard work that obviously went into it!  I'm going to try it today with my elementary 6th graders!

Used shea.karssing's Describing People PPT in my 5th grade elementary school class and they really enjoyed it. I made a few changes to adapt it for my class, but they loved it. Thanks!
