I took someone's boardgame from another thread and changed it to suit the textbook. Hope you like it.

Introductory PPT with vocab & key expressions, not much language in this lesson so I'll just be making the one intro this time. Be sure to check this post every now & again as I'll be editing it if/when I make more files for the later parts of the lesson.

All Periods Intro: Pretty self explanatory. (Ideal for all periods)

Thank you so much!

It's pretty much nice window dressing on a relatively superficial language activity. Bomb games are little more than cue-and-response drills wrapped up in a nice package.

It doesn't diminish the effort this person put in, after all if "clothes maketh the man." then "animations maketh the PPT". And this type of animation typically take hours, if not maybe days to prepare from stratch, alongside a breadth of experience with PPT designing.

In short, PPT is really well-designed. The time placed into it making this PPT makes it a great unit ending review game or filler.

I wanted a couple of panic activities for this lesson in case of extra time, so here we go!

1. Another board game option, ye olde RPS game!

Directions:
-Play in pairs, one student starts at A, one starts at B.
-Take turns saying the vocabulary, "it's a _______." If it's right the player can keep moving.
-When the two players meet, RPS. Winner proceeds, loser back to the start.
-Get to the other player's start square to win!
***Fonts in this are KG Blank Space Solid and KG Miss Kingergarten, both free I think? Great for elementary worksheets. Anywho, I realized they may look jacked up without being downloaded already, so I included a comic sans'd option in the attachments.

2. Grab the vocab card set
-Play in pairs (or other numbers if it would leave one student isolated)
-Each group/pair gets one set of cards (there's two sets per page on the printable to save paper)
-Class asks "What's this?" or "What's that?"
-Teacher says "It's a ________!"
-Kids try to grab the right card first.
-Winner has the most cards at the end.

Boy I'm gonna feel silly about making a card set if there's already a vocab card printable/tearable for this lesson...I haven't taught it yet and don't have my text or guide to check. But hey, more options!
****Edit: There IS a printable flash card option from the CD-rom! It worked great for grab the vocab, so I'm adding the sheet (L2 Play Together 2) to these attachments.

Happy teaching ya'll!

Here is a Pass the Ball game for period 1 that I used last year. I just modified the game to fit the vocab from the new edition of this textbook.

Also I'll include a drilling intro PPT to explain this vs. that - updated with the new vocab.

Neither of these are my originals, just edited by me from previous teachers. Sorry, I don't remember who!

Thank you for this! I used the cards for the game in 2.2. During this lesson I also gave the kids free time to look around the room for items that they knew in English and even items that they did not know in English. After they had their items they presented a skit. In the skit they used the vocabulary "what is this?" and "its's a..." My students love giving, so they also used "thank you" and "you're welcome." After each skit I would ask the class "what is that?" and they had to answer. This incorporated all of the vocabulary. In the last 10 minutes of class we worked on pronuciation because they have difficulties pronouncing their "p" and "f"s. I showed them the paper trick where you put a piece of paper in front of your mouth and you make the sounds of the letters. After I demonstrated I had them practice one by one saying the sounds and also saying "fan" and "pen." The visual of the paper moving helps them literally see and hear the difference between the words and the sounds.
Sorry for the long response, but I just finished this class.

Not the prettiest thing in the world, but here is a PPT to practice the Showtime for lesson 2. The last four slides I print off onto one page as mini-scripts for the kids to use. Hope it's useful!
