Ppt taken from a similar lesson and modified a bit to suit this chapter.

It includes:
*introducing more family members than the book requires, but they are easy.
*review (page 20)
*sing (page 21)
*matching and writing worksheet
*matching memory game

Thanks to the original uploader. Guys let's get more materials going for this book!!

Here are all my materials. Most of the activities are taken from this site and adapted, so all credit to the original creators! I also used different lessons with different classes, so some of the activities were repeated.

Here is a better version of Line Bingo.  Systematic so that you can just print and use for one class and there are no overlapping bingo cards.  Also, there are 7 vocab on each students line/strip, but 8 total vocabulary. It works well with an 8-sided dice that the teacher rolls, or you can have 8 playing cards 1-8 that you keep shuffling and pulling from. Assign one vocab to each dice/card result.   I cartoonized my face and included it for the "this is my teacher" result. I'd change that to yourself or one of the one's in the file below.  Mom, dad, brother, sister, friend, teacher, grandma, grandpa in total.

Probably best if you laminate one set of 32 strips and find about 7x32 (~225) little token type of things they can cover the faces with as they are said.  When I have done it with paper for 4-5 classes, it's even more cutting than if you had just laminated one set which could be reused next year.

The Flash Cards attachment can be used to change the vocab from what I used,  you will see I didn't use aunt/uncle/dog etc but they are in this file so you can swap in.

This requires no download, I'll just explain.  Also,  prior to this I used the 'actions reading game' that was posted above. (clap = X, Triangle = shout etc)

I call it King of the Hill.

It's good for about 10 minutes plus 1-2 minutes of time to explain.  It will be important to do a demo with at least 3 people.

1.  In my class of ~ 28 I divided into two separate games/groups.  I took one group and coteacher took the other group.
2.  One student from each game is the Queen/King.  I gave them a King or Queen playing card to hold according to their gender. They are at the front of the line and face the line.
3.  The object of the game is to collect as much money as possible while you are the king/queen.  I have diamonds/gold/emeralds etc from my board game Splendor.    About 20-25 (I used 20) 'money items' for each group will be enough, and I played until they were gone.
3.  The second person in line must look behind themselves and see which friend it is.  They then say for example "This is my friend Jiho."
4. The queen/king says "Nice to meet you."
5. The friend who was introduced (Jiho) will say "Nice to meet you too."
6. Then the queen/king and the introducer (2nd in line after K/Q) do rock paper scissors.  If the king loses immediately, he gives the king card to the kid who won and goes to the back of the line with nothing.  Had the K/Q won though, they would earn a 'money item'.
7.  Basically the person who wins the most rock paper scissors in a row during the time allotted will win the game.  I gave some candy to the person who collected the most money in each of the two groups.

As a little example:  Jiho is second in line.  He does the little dialogue and he beats the king and becomes the king.  He wins three in a row and then loses.  With 3 money now, he goes to the back of the line.  He waits a while in line and gets back to the front and he beats the queen.  Again, earning a chance at money. He wins two more once he's the king.  He now has 5 money.  All of his friends realize how great he is at rock paper scissors, he eats candy and lives happily ever after.
