Activity #1
Coin flick game:  I use tokens from one of my board games instead of a coin though because kids always think it's funny to not give my coins back in a timely fashion and it just wastes my time.

Loser of rock paper scissors asks "What's this?"  Winner flicks the token and answers according to the picture.  If it lands on a picture,  they answer "It's a book" etc.  The vocab and pictures are taken directly from the textbook (Lesson 2 but a few, like cup/dog/cat from lesson 1).  I printed 15 copies for a class of 30 and laminate the pages.

Once a kid lands a space for the first time, they say the thing and then they can use a dry-erase marker to mark a color or shape of their liking on the space.  The object of the game is to collect the most 'territory'.  If you land on one of the two bombs, you should say "WOW!"  and you must erase one of your marks, freeing up the territory for the opponent.

I would have them switch partners and play a second round.

Activity #2:

Using the same laminated game sheet, I would play a game called "Telepathy".  All you need to do is have all the students put their finger on any of the pictures.  At that point I count down 3,2,1 and then they say "What's this?"   I answer any of the vocab on the page, and if they have their finger on that item, they get one point.  They should remember their own point total, in theory.  It's an easy way to fill 3-6 minutes if there is extra time after the first game.
