Four Corners game. Students pick a corner. After they have chosen, read the question or sentence at the top. Students in each corner should respond accordingly. Whoever is in the corner(s) w/o the bomb, gets a point. Person with the most points at the end of ten rounds is the winner.

Attached is an Intro ppt as well as a Shoots and ladders game (I renamed it Up and Down).

Instructions for the game are on the word document. I'm currently creating a worksheet for section 3 of lesson 4. Will post it next week sometime.

A good activity you can try is putting items in a bag, and students feel it and guess what it is.
For larger classes, you can put them in a few teams and the team all have 1 minute total to feel the item and guess.

Also great to do with the magnetic alphabet blocks if you have any, and they can feel it and guess...

I used random alphabet, animals and plastic fruits I found laying around, a pencil, eraser etc. Basically anything they already know the vocab for.

Here are all my PPTs for this lesson. It was very fun. I would suggest switching the game order and do line bingo for 2nd period and pictionary for 3rd period.

Also for a good visual of the words big, small, long, fast -- blow a balloon in front of the students. Inflate the balloon a little and ask "Is it big or small?" Inflate a long balloon and ask "Is it long or short?" Release the balloon for "It's fast." A very memorable demo.

Folder so far:

- Survival Bingo: This is a cross between an elimination game and bingo (not my original idea, saw it on a discussion board somewhere). Basically when your group gets a bingo, you are out. The last group to get a bingo wins. I did this in groups so that students who have a harder time can get help from group members, but you can also turn it into an individual game. The bingo cards are meant to be printed and given to the groups so that they can make their own bingo cards and rearrange them every round. 1 sheet is NOT 1 set. 1 set is 10 cards so you'd have to do some rearranging. If you print all 5 pages though you will get exactly 6 sets. They only need to use 9 of the 10 cards to make a full bingo card. I added the extra card to add some variety among the groups.

*Note: In order to prevent groups from getting eliminated right away, I specify what a "bingo" is. Every round I give two options for what a bingo looks like.

First period: Modified the Four Corners game posted above to make it more fun (with fun gifs!). I normally make them listen and repeat before going to their corners, since that's mostly the point of this lesson.

Second period: For Team Rocket, split the students into teams. They have to say a sentence to hide their pokemon. If Team Rocket doesn't get their pokemon, they get a point for that round.

Third period: Baskin' Robbins 31 Flavors. This is a reading game students play with partners. They take turns reading. Each student can read from one to three squares, but the one who reads the last square (square 31) loses. I normally print a double sided paper with one easy side and one harder side. That way if they finish one they can move on to the other, and the students who are more advanced can have something more at their level.

Fourth period: It's Gibli Bomb Game, to give the students a rest from writing every forth period. xD I didn't make this game, just found it somewhere else and made some changes.

Hey everyone. This is the PPT I made for lesson 4 online class. I made similar PPTs for lessons 1, 2, and 3, so I will just write here what I wrote on the posts for the previous lessons. This PPT introduces the the key words key words and expressions, has practice dialogue, and then the sounds and letters. It has my voice over with royalty free music from bensounds.com.

Native teachers: you can download it and delete my voice and record your voice to put in its place. My voice is on the right speaker on each slide, the music is on the left speaker on the first slide and it plays on a loop through the entire presentation.

Korean English teachers: you are welcome to use this PPT with my voice for your school.

If you want to make this into a video. you can use the export feature to convert it to a mp4, however, that feature is only if you have an Office subscription.
