ET Story
Instead of just treating this like another 'ShowTime' style story I decided to make it more of a game (Will be doing this next week with the students)
Story (dont need textbook as it is not in the textbook) - but may wish to provide students with a cartoon outline of the story before the 'game'.
Game
1) Divide the class into 3 groups. (eg group 1, 2, 3 (or A, B, C). I think 3 groups is enough.
2) Each group in turn suggests a sentence for picture 1. NT to write it on the board under the groups number 3) Repeat for the same picture- Maybe each group suggests up to 3 sentences for each picture. (Students cannot have the same 'sentence' that another group has said for that picture.)
4) Groups get 1 point for each possible sentence/ suggestion. If group cannot think of a different sentence they can pass.
5) After approximately 3 pictures (when board is full) Play the dialog from the CD give bonus points if a group said the same sentence as in the dialog.
6) Erase the board and repeat with the next pictures.
I am expecting this to take 15-20 minutes.
