What do you want to be? 6th grade Class project: Unit 14
« on: December 17, 2018, 12:34:13 PM »
Hi,
I started off the lesson with a song 'You can be what you want to be' (This is not mine) (I suggest adjusting the speed to make it a bit slower).  I then reviewed the key jobs (listen and repeat).  We then played a coin flick game (again not mine: Thanks to the Waygook person who made this).  This reviewed the key sentences and jobs.
I then handed out the templates and explain that I wanted the class to create a city street with all their future job ideas.   Show slide 1 of PPT to explain to students.

This final part took about 20-25 minutes.  I drew a big city street and then added shops to fit in with what the students wanted to be.  For example I added an office for the 'Progamer' students. If you cut out the things yourself I'm sure the students can do the colouring and writing of the key sentences faster.

The two sentences the students need to write are based on the game. 'I want to be a .....' and eiither 'I like...' or 'I want to (wowk with animals)'.

This was a fun class activity and something to put on the wall.   I used this for two classes. So I used the same city street for both classes.   ;D
