2019 Grade 6 Cheonjae 2 - 3. When Is the Club Festival?
« on: March 04, 2019, 12:57:57 pm »
This lesson is similar to: 4. When Is Your Birthday? from the 2015 book.
"The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword."

These are the activities I have for this lesson so far. Neither activities are mine but I have adapted them for this book.

One is a a textbook dice game from our textbook last year. But you don't need the textbook for it, just print slide 1.

Introductory PPT as well as a slap game. Be sure to check this post every now & again as I'll be editing it if/when I make more files for the later parts of the lesson.

All Periods Intro: Pretty self explanatory. (Ideal for all periods)

Slap game: Divide the class into two teams, 2 students come up to the front and have their back facing the TV screen with fly swatters. Everyone asks me "When is your birthday?" I answer "It's on ____." Both students then turn around & the first person to slap the correct date on the TV using the fly swatter gets a point for their team. (Ideal for the first or second period)

Stay Alive elimination game: Instructions included in the PPT, also download the zip file and unpack it in the same directory as the PPT file to add sound effects to the game (or play in silence, it's up to you). Thanks to whomever made the original version. (Ideal for the fourth period)

A poster project for part 5 'let's write'.

Students create their own event/day/holiday/whatever and do some writing based off of the textbook dialogue.

Top section is open for title of the their day, middle squares is for some pictures highlighting main points of the day and bottom is just for them to fill out with the details (exact same as the textbook).

Hopefully helpful.

My students got confused with "the" and "your" so I added some dialogue onto cabooklover's spinner game.

They kept saying When is the your birthday? When is the Children's day?

Spy card game (speaking game) - instructions in PPT. Final slide is the cards, print as many as appropriate for your class size.

Credit to the original maker for the game, I merely edited it for this lesson.

I made two PPTs with my voice over for lesson three. I made a similar ones for lessons one and two. The PPTs are from the book's website (I think my coteacher downloaded them off of the company's website last year) and I recorded my voice over the slides. The music is royalty free music from  bensounds.com.

If you would like to use this PPT and record your own voice, from the first slide my voice over is the speaker on the right. You can delete those and then record your voice. On the first slide, the speaker for the music is on the left. It is set to play at the lowest volume on a loop for the entire presentation. If you want to keep the music, don't delete the left speaker on the first slide!

Korean English Teachers: you are welcome to use this PPT with my voice for your school.

If you need to change the PPT to a video, you can use the export feature to to convert it to a mp4, however, it doesn't work with all versions of Office. The version of Office must have a subscription in order to use this feature.

Hello!

Dance and Speak. I created this K-pop game from scratch.

Students are asked to listen to a song without lyrics and create sentences using the lesson key expressions and words.

If you like the PPT, let me know! If you think I could have done something differently or better, let me know, too! Feedback is much appreciated. :)

Enjoy!
