Review game for lessons 3 & 4 made from tik2018's recently uploaded Avengers Bomb Game template and spiced up by yours truly. Be sure to download & install the Avengeance font to really razzle & dazzle your students with this ppt.

For my Special 2 class, I'm primarily focusing on second usage of the vocab from Lesson 4 and different types of directions (I.e. outside of looking for specific places). This is mostly because the homeroom teachers were supposed to teach lesson 3 and I know some classes are still only partway through it.

So I made a ppt and edited a video for learning the Cha Cha slide. For whatever reason, the video refuses to go into the PPT so it's uploaded separately.

The Avengers PPt was great, but some of the images were low quality, so here's an updated version.
Many thanks.

I did this 'Special' for this year's contract renewal open class.
Decided to make a big team game which the students enjoy. It requires a little bit of prep - printing and a couple of optional items. Students solve quiz papers in order to get clues about a mystery event. Each team (purple, blue, yellow,  orange) has a different event, date, location and activity. Gather all the hints to complete the blank invitation. > Students then get a map and directions and use this to find their event.
Check slide 73 for what the final result should look like.

This is a team game based on a class with 20 students (4 teams of 5 students). If you have fewer thank 20 in a class it will also work. Everything you need to print is included on this PPT.

Materials
PPT - Instructions for students are on PPT. Q4 listening questions are on slide 12.

Quiz Sheets - Print one set for each team. Each student in a team gets a different page. Instructions for each quiz are provided in Korean.

Answer Pages - If a team has less than 5 students then you may give them an already completed page for each missing player, so they do not have a disadvantage.

Code Breakers - Different for each team. Students receive these when they complete the corresponding Quiz Page.
Print, cut out the colored squares to create a window and then laminate. If you lay the 'code breaker' over the matching quiz sheet you will see a piece of information ('hint' )which is needed for your invitation (event title, where, when, activity you can do there). Each team has different code breakers for different events. 1 'code breaker' for teach team has no information.

Invitations - Team gets this at the beginning. The blank spaces need to be completed using the event, location, date, and activity obtained via use of the code breaker. Once completed the team receives the map and directions for their event.

Team Maps - Print one copy for each team - they receive after completing the invitation.
Team Directions - Different for each team - they receive after completing the invitation.

Q7 Poster - Stick around classroom
Q12 Poster - Stick around classroom
Q16 Poster - Stick around classroom

Classroom Map - a bigger copy of the team maps. Print 4 pages and stick together. Put this on the black/white board. Teams Who have completed their invitation and found the location on the map can use string/magnet to link together their invitation and the location on the Classroom Map.

Magnets, String - for holding up Classroom map and for connecting invitation card to map location.

Timer - for keeping time...

Instructions

1. Warm up - show a few seconds of each weird festival (slides are not my own, credit to original creator), youtube links on slide pages. Ask students where/when the festival takes place.
2. Introduce game
3. Students have 6 mins of solo time to solve as much as they can. The order in which they solve puzzles is not important. (6 mins) ** if they complete the worksheet they can receive the corresponding code breaker.
4. After 6 minutes students are allowed to work together as a team and discuss answers. (7 mins) ** if they complete the worksheet they can receive the corresponding code breaker.
5. Listening activity (Q4) becomes available  after 7 mins of team time. Play clips as many times as necessary. (3 mins)
6. Students continue team work for 5 mins. (5 mins) After 5 mins give all teams their remaining code breakers, maps and directions.
7. Students stick their completed invitation card on the chalkboard/whiteboard and connect it with their location on the map using magnets and string. (Illustrated on slide 73)

Feel free to adjust times as you see fit. I ended up giving my students about 30 mins for the whole activity and 3/4 teams were able to finish. Please print the materials in colour!
