Nunchi reading game I made.  Could be a great warm-up activity or reading practice.  Rainbow-themed to look cool  ;D

Update: I didn't find any mistakes on it, but there are a few design elements that are driving me nuts. On my Office, everything is fine, but when I open it as a pdf, the corner boxes on the top row are slightly higher than the rest of the row. I should have made this on a PPT, like other games I have seen on here are made Live and learn!

Speaking of PPT, I made one to practice expressions with the pictures. I am attaching it now.

Here is a snakes and ladders game I made. I am using it for period 1. I haven't tried it in class yet. Usually I don't post things I make until they have been used in class, but since this book is new and there aren't many materials for it yet, I am posting it now. That being said, if you find any mistakes on it, please tell me so I can fix it! If I find mistake, I correct the mistake, and update this post with the corrected versions.

I am attaching both a doc file and a pdf file.

The yellow-orange arrows are to tell the students the direction to move in the game ... in case you didn't know!

Coin flick game ideal for speaking. Student 1 asks "what do you do on weekends/saturday/sunday/ect." Student 2 flicks coin or eraser and answers with the corresponding picture. Bomb is minus points.

Introductory PPT as well as a heads up 7 up game. Be sure to check this post every now & again as I'll be editing it if/when I make more files for the later parts of the lesson.

All Periods Intro: Pretty self explanatory. (Ideal for all periods)

Heads Up 7 Up game: Instructions included in the PPT as well as a PDF of some picture cards if you need them. (Ideal for the second period)

Connect 4 game: Divide the class into 2 teams (Yellow VS Red), students ask and answer "What do you do on weekends?" in order to place their teams colour marker in the square. (Ideal for the first or second period)

I edited kcleere's post to add a little more practice. Expanded on soccer practice to include other sports, and added a memory game after the initial intro of the vocabulary.  Still a work in progress, but figured it might help some people.

Hey this looks great, where did you get the materials to make the worksheets? I'm not sure if I'm missing something on the CD's?

Took the first one from my Korean coteacher and the second one from a user online here or elsewhere (I can't remember).  If I have time, I may merge the two later.

Telepathy writing game- I usually make them write down the sentences individually in their notebooks and ask how many points they got at the end.

Word Cloud- Can either be used as a speaking warm-up or a group writing game.
*Some original material and some borrowed. Thank you to the original creators!

Modified pokemon bomb game for period 1 (higher points, less intro, matches the unit well.).  Goes with the attached ppt that Hello Kitty made.  Targeted at lower level English students.

I made a connect 4 game that's adaptable to other units.

I printed out the worksheets and put them in those clear plastic sleeves (or you can laminate them). Students use dry erase markers.

Student A and Student B play Rock, Paper, Scissors. Loser asks the winner, "What do you do on weekends?". Winner reads the sentence in the square, then circles it. Just like real connect 4, they have to start on the bottom and can't place their circles anywhere on the board unless it's stacked on top of another circle.

If the square has a picture in it, the student has to make a sentence. Change turns until a student to connect 4 wins. Erase the board, and start again.

I have a word twinkle that I use every lesson to review the key words. After the reading class period (period 4)  I like to remove the pictures.

Period 3 - I also made a connect 4 game (stolen template, credits to the original!)  I do boys v girls and the whole class asks "What do you do on weekends?" and one student answers.

Period 4 -  Let's read level reading to supplement the textbook. I have them listen to the textbook, repeat after me, translate, and then read by themselves five times (they can read out loud quietly). Then we play this ppt where students fill in the blank.

Period 5 - Sleeping elephants and elimination reading (staying alive). Stolen templates, credits to the originals!

Lesson materials I used for some sections of Lesson 2. Most, if not all, of these materials are borrowed and modified/updated from other sources.

Period 1 - Intro PPT, telephone game

Period 4 - Bubble game warm-up (like catch the sentence), Let's read level reading  (hidden words)
