**my school laptop/computer only allows the korean version of windows/ppt so im sorry if you don't have that :(**
Just open the PPT and hopefully all the music plays when u click it (takes a minute).
ALso, on the worksheet there are a lot of big blanks b/c i actually drew in the explanation that i wanted to give through comics and stuff.
the drawn comics are on the ppt so if you're curious as to what i wrote, there it is!
All art work is by me..please dont distribute w/o permission and credit my original art. LOL JKJKJKK i mean, yeah i drew it but it's nothing to write home about.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1XsEwkW6DsCiUt4vwxrxsXAwWd1uGHHUtSo I know the typical "im planning to..." games/activities that are out there and tbh i really don't like them. also, it doesn't fit my school very well sooooo this is how i decided to plan the activities.
Day 1: + Introduce expression (we just do a bit of drilling that's all)
+ "I'm going to" Song Activity: So I want my students to learn how to speak naturally so i kinda stretched this book's expression to include "I'm going to...". Students will listen to 3 songs that include the "i'm going to" expression and fill in the blanks. Then we'll just go over it together so they get comfortable saying "Im gunna ...".
Btw, i purposefully tried to find interesting/popular songs...sorry if it's not easy to hear!
1. sia - chandelier
2. white stripes - 7 nation army **this one is a doozy to hear...sorry....*
3. avicii - gonna love ya
im sure there are also lots of song with the lyrics "you're gonna/we're gonna/etc". The ones i chose all just happen to be "im gonna..."
+ Textbook Questions (part 1 & there was like 10min left over so i gave them free time/we listened to all 3 songs again this time on youtube. Plus i think it's good to show them more..rock-band type songs instead of just pop music)
Day 2: + Listen & Write : on the word doc, and the second PPT, you'll see that i had the students "listen and write" the conversation that's in their book on page 103 (it's the second page). we corrected it together, and i also put up some comics of webtoons that i'm currently also reading on naver (lol) for them to try to solve in English!
+ Pictionary using the Key Expression. This can be pretty dang hectic, so if you don't like that kind of environment..err...
you might not like this game.
I set them up with the expression and they have answer using it. This game can take 25-30min.
ie. Answer: I'm planning to/I'm going to bake a cake after school.
Drawer: They know the answer, so they'll draw it of course on mini-whiteboards (or if you have a big whiteboard/chalkboard, i divide the space for them to draw directly on there as well).
Rest of the team: This is what they see on the board/ppt: "I'm planning to _____________ after school." So they need to figure out the middle.
I change up the expressions as well. for example: I'm planning to _____ during winter break.
I'm going to __________ this weekend.
Again, when students answer, they have to answer using that expression.
