That's 3,8 million. And the air might be a bit better, too.

they behead murderers, rapists and terrorists.
Quotethey behead murderers, rapists and terrorists. Also adulterers, (though I think they stone them) apostates, women who have killed while defending themselves against rape, drug mules and sorcerers. So as long as you don't take any Harry Potter books over with you, you'll probably be all right.

we have our own sections of banks and restaurants, and many other benefits.
And also if compound living is your thing, then by all means go for it!
The way I understand it is that most people live in compounds regardless of salaries, I could be wrong, as I've never set foot in KSA, and don't plan on doing that ever, as KSA has a such a horrible track record of violating human rights and women's rights.I believe there are a variety of compounds, from the super expensive ones to the more modest ones. Some friends of mine definitely lived in female only compounds, because they(they're veiled Muslim women) talked about being able to walk around in shorts with their hair uncovered.
Okay-- seriously it is not that bad. I mean if you are a normal person going about your business you have nothing to worry about. I have taught in Saudi for several years, and I am female. It is not really that bad here at all. Women can drive here now, we have our own sections of banks and restaurants, and many other benefits. All the single women that I am friends with have done fine here. I only know of one guy who got arrested here-- he had drugs and alcohol on him. In Korea, he would have gone to jail for the same thing and probably have been deported. Plus the package is way better than in Korea. So, I guess it just depends on your outlook.
