« on: April 22, 2019, 11:38:23 pm »
Native Speaker Teacher of English wanted for “ROSI English Academy “.

ROSI stands for “Reading Oriented Speaking Instruction.”

We believe “Speaking skills can be acquired by context-based sentences and meaningful communication.” That’s why I selected these two keywords of ‘reading’ and ‘speaking’ for naming my Academy.

As a founder of ROSI, I always study my students and develop programs for them. If you have a dream to become a talented teacher of English Reading and Speaking. This is the right place.

I can guide you as I guide many English teachers of Korea through various seminars and the students of Korea Cyber University as a professor.

Though it’s in Korean, I posted ROSI program presentation to parents together with most of my lectures about how to teach English to teachers and moms. You could learn out philosophy of education and know-hows from the Youtube Channel ‘ROSI EDUCATION’.

We are located even 30-min away from Gangnam station by one direct subway line and 10-min walking distance from a huge lake park.  You can even hike Gwanggyo mountain from Academy. Gwanggyo New Town, where we are at, is one of the most popular area to live in Korea.

We are 500m away from the exit 1 of Gwanggyo Jungang station.

Low ball salary for an expensive area...no mention of the legal personal vacation days.

If someone is IN Korea, there is no flight?

chump change....move on.

Gwanggyo is a great little (actually, well spread out) town on the east end of suwon.

The only 2 things that are expensive there are housing and the subway. In terms of everything else, Gwanggyo isn’t too different from most other residential towns in suburban Gyeonggi.

Housing is at a premium because there are 2 pretty decent lakes nearby with massive construction projects surrounding them...some of the apartments overlooking the lake cost a cool million dollars or slightly less/more. So you know the kind of people whose children you’ll be teaching - highly paid upper middle class professionals who want to avoid the choking hustle and bustle of Seoul.

Several malls and an unbelievable amount of apartment/officetel buildings have been completed already, and there will be 2-3 big convention centres right by the lake.

Also, there’s a new administrative office for the Gyeonggi region being built there, which I believe will be the new headquarters for the Gyeonggi government...so once that is completed in the next 3-4yrs, prices will skyrocket.

There’s plenty of speculative property investment in the area because of the above...people looking to double or triple their investments within the next 5-10yrs.

There’s also the techno valley where several R&D companies/divisions are situated, and CJ entertainment has a massive complex there where they do a lot of god knows what lol. Oh, and suwon World Cup stadium is a short walk away too.

The Shinbubdang line starts from this end and is costlier than other lines...around the 2k won mark per journey (crazy right?!)...but everything in the town, including the subway station, streets etc is brand spanking new, shiny and pretty much an impressive sight. And there’s still plenty of construction left to do.

There OP, you’re welcome for the great explanation of the town.

Please add an extra 200k to the salary at least.

..sounds like a conglomeration of buildings that offer no value to a typical foreign teacher.

Yes, add to the salary (but they wont').

The worst of which they'll experience on the subway/road into work.

I can honestly say it’s a nice, pleasant place to be in. Lots of open space and greenery. Not overpopulated/cramped...for now.

It has enough local and foreign catered cuisine. But it is mostly a bedroom community which means the nightlife isn’t great (if that’s your priority).

It is however a 10 minute taxi ride from ajou university where all the student bars and clubs are.

If you’re a foreigner that values the nitty gritty party lifestyle in Seoul, then Gwanggyo is definitely not for you.

If you prefer the quiet lifestyle of leafy surburbia with a healthy mix of squeaky clean architecture and nature, then it could be the place for you.

It’s not too dissimilar from most other bedroom towns around the province...it just happens to be a lot newer and a lot more high end.

Oh, and OP you know 400k won’t get diddly squat in Gwanggyo...the housing allowance should be at least 500k, which is the going rate for one rooms and officetels in the area.

I think it'd be like most new cities in Korea, in that they are newly planned and feel quite open at the moment and not cramped like old town Korea.  Although there'd be a mess of traffic lights and people ignoring them.  I lived in one, and I kind of miss the big pavements, cycle paths, wide roads, parks and green areas.

Exactly. I imagine this was how Bundang initially was before it became an overcrowded nightmare.

yep...

also yep.  once the provincial/national headquarters get relocated to these new towns you get the Seoul bunch coming down with their Seoul ways to the suburbs and countryside and being a pain in the ass.  I had a Korean friend who worked in a high school in one of these new cities and the principal was constantly getting complaints from parents calling about their kids.  especially test time as being 1위 is so important to them, that they'll complain to the school and the OoE to give their son or daughter the best chance.  one time, a teacher didn't go to class as they went to hospital, so a parent called to complain that their son didn't get taught.  One class??

The population of South Korea is about to fall through the Korean reluctance to have children. Also, Seoul's population is already falling. If people are migrating into Gyeonggi to escape urban congestion and ower-valued property, one would expect property values in the capital to stabilize. They don't. In Seoul the boom continues and continues. The property market in Korea as elsewhere is irrational. It's about perceptions. It's about a relatively small number of wealthy people who suddenly have more money than they know what to do with. Housing to them is an investment like shares in Uranium or in manure. Houses can therefore be kept empty as it's not about supply and demand. It's about perceived value. A house by a lake in Gyeonggi-do is just a house by a normal lake. If the property fairies sprinkle their stardust over it, the lake hasn't changed. It's just that somebody wants that land. There is another reason why Suwon's property may be shooting up. That reason is CORRUPTION!    It's an irresponsible property boom but the Korean government needs to tackle it.
