Here is a mystery box game to practice past tense verbs and sentences. Split the class into two teams - the teams take turns in answering the question using the past tense. Then they will see a mystery box - they can choose to keep the box or give the box to the other team. It's a lot of fun.

Here is a "pass the ball" game.

You need one or more plush balls for this game. Students pass a ball while the music plays, and when the music stops, students ask, "What did you do?" The student holding the ball answers. (I recommend just showing the answer and letting them read.) For this PowerPoint, each time a student reads, he or she is reading an increasing number of slides. (I recommend you encourage students to shout, "AND...?" between each item. Students will love fishing for more answers out of their unfortunate classmates. I also recommend that you take your time with each slide, and begin throwing more balls into the game as the game progresses. I've used as many as six balls, and students enjoyed it.)

I received a message about this game but when I sent a reply I could not see that I had sent a message, twice, so I will reply to it here:

The idea here is that each round, the student with the ball is reading more and more, because one phrase is added each time. Of course, you don't have to explain this to the students, because they can discover it as they play. I think that students will enjoy watching their classmates read more and more, and they will also begin to wonder what phrase will be added each round. Also, this allows a lot of repetition for them.

Credit to original creator. While looking through old PPT'S I had previously downloaded, I found this . Hope it helps! I tweaked some of the font because it was too small.

I am transferring to a new place for second semester, and I believe the students will continue to study online next fall, so I made PPTs for each lesson for the rest of the book.

I made two PPTs with my voice over for this lesson. I made a similar ones for previous lessons in this book, so I will write the same there that I wrote in previous posts. The PPTs are from the book's website (I think my coteacher downloaded them off of the company's website last year) and I recorded my voice over the slides. The music is royalty free music from  bensounds.com.

If you would like to use this PPT and record your own voice, from the first slide my voice over is the speaker on the right. You can delete those and then record your voice. On the first slide, the speaker for the music is on the left. It is set to play at the lowest volume on a loop for the entire presentation. If you want to keep the music, don't delete the left speaker on the first slide!

If you need to change the PPT to a video, you can use the export feature to to convert it to a mp4, however, it doesn't work with all versions of Office. The version of Office must have a subscription in order to use this feature.
