Intro ppt and listening activity for lesson 9.

You'll notice that there are more vocab words than the text. Also, listening activity is from last year's curriculum posted by another person (Sorry. Didn't catch the name, but thanks!) I've added the directions to the vocab ppt.

Haven't decided what to play for the last section. I'll have an open class that day; so thinking of an interactive speaking game. I have attached all the other games i have used so far. And one review ppt. The other ones are too big to attach.

Just an introductory PPT from me for this lesson. If I make anything else for this lesson then I'll edit this post to add it as per usual.

All Periods Intro: Pretty self explanatory. (Ideal for all periods)

Here are 3 kinds of board games to play to practice 'My favorite subject is...'. Also, includes subject flashcards. All are FREE and no need to register.

Hello, everyone.
Here's a Monster Telepathy for Halloween. It's another user's template, but I put our information in it and edited a few gifs. Thanks to the original creator. Use it for reading/speaking or reading/writing.
Happy Almost Halloween, folks!

I did this lesson in the old books. For this book, I did it for the 6th period. The book has a song activity in the 6th period lesson, but I think this one is better.  :P

I show the movie clip first, then I pass out the worksheet and we watch the video with the lyrics. I stop the video after the word they are supposed to find. The class spells the word together as they write it down. After, we check the answers ( write them on the board). Next, I have them repeat after me the first half of the song line by line (there is no need to repeat the whole song, as it repeats). Finally, we watch it one more time and they all sing. All of this takes about 20 minutes.

Enjoy!

My version of Sleeping Elephants. You need to change the names to some of your students' names. And a roleplay, I made. Both of these are based on my Expression Objectives handout which I'm trying to find. I will update when I find it.

Tom and Jerry review game.  Also swiped from co teacher.  Yoink.  Use these at your own peril or risk or just use the templates for this, future chapters, or other books with similar lessons.
You should probably check some of the English before using this game. Good overall, but some mistakes.

Lesson materials I used for all sections of Lesson 9. Most, if not all, of these materials are borrowed and modified/updated from other sources.

Period 1 - Vocab intro, worksheet, Omok listening game (similar to connect 4)

Period 2 - Stand Up Speak Out warm-up, Q&A speaking cards (had partners read A&B then next table read when finished and continue around the classroom until everyone has read. The fastest class won a prize)

Period 3 - Democracy warm-up (not a game, they just stood up when I asked what is their favorite), Make a story (acting out)

Period 4 - Unscramble warm-up, Knockout Reading (could be difficult for large classes)

Period 5 - My Favorite Things worksheet

Period 6 - Mission impossible (running dictation). If your class is large, I tried to have only 2 or 3 students run each time, then the students can guess the full sentence. Make sure the students reading have big clue words so they can guess the rest of the sentence correctly (ex: "My favorite subject is English" - students read "favorite" and "English")

~Added Words with songs. I did this in a random class period, students always love it~

*Knockout reading - each student gets a slip of paper, sometimes multiple students get the same paper. I draw a random student number, that student must read a sentence from the screen, but not their own. The student(s) with the sentence read aloud must sit down, they are out. Or you can have the "out" student read the next sentence. Last student standing wins.

I am transferring to a new place for second semester, and I believe the students will continue to study online next fall, so I made PPTs for each lesson for the rest of the book.

I made two PPTs with my voice over for this lesson. I made a similar ones for previous lessons in this book, so I will write the same there that I wrote in previous posts. The PPTs are from the book's website (I think my coteacher downloaded them off of the company's website last year) and I recorded my voice over the slides. The music is royalty free music from  bensounds.com.

If you would like to use this PPT and record your own voice, from the first slide my voice over is the speaker on the right. You can delete those and then record your voice. On the first slide, the speaker for the music is on the left. It is set to play at the lowest volume on a loop for the entire presentation. If you want to keep the music, don't delete the left speaker on the first slide!

Korean English Teachers: you are welcome to use this PPT with my voice for your school.

If you need to change the PPT to a video, you can use the export feature to to convert it to a mp4, however, it doesn't work with all versions of Office. The version of Office must have a subscription in order to use this feature.

Avengers English War game for review. I taught the students to use this expression with things other than just school subjects (food, sports, colors, movies, etc.) so keep that in mind before you have them play this one.

Two reading/speaking games. The Fortnite one is to be played individually and the Kartrider one as teams. I had to change the title screen of the Kartrider one so it'd be small enough to upload, but my kids asked for a Kartrider themed game so thank you so much to the OP!!

Just a heads up that I did include other "favorite" topics not included in the book (color, movie, food) so you can adjust that if you want~

Line bingo explanation for period 1. The cards should be in the back of the book.
