Most of my files are too big because of the gifs i added.

But basically i started each class with review of the material. Used korean and english. Gave them points for spelling words correctly and then went over the materials in the book.

First period we played decode the message

2nd period pass the ball

3rd period telephone game

4th period telepathy game

5th period read and run game

6th period sleeping elephants

7th bomb game to review

credit to the original creators of the games; i just edited some stuff slightly

An intro with a slap game attached to it & a pirate game with a twist. Be sure to check this post every now & again as I'll be editing it if/when I make more files for the later parts of the lesson.

Intro: Pretty self explanatory. (Ideal for the first period)

Pirate Game: Grid based sentence making game. Students play in teams of two, the 1st student says "I think ___ is ___. What do you think?" And the 2nd student responds with either "I think so." or "I don't think so." and hold up the appropriate O/X card. I also made a version that doesn't require the O/X cards since my travel school has an odd number of students. (Ideal for the second period)
"Have you seen what the sith are wearing? It's like every fashion designer in the galaxy went over to the dark side."

page for circle race game. put students in pairs. they each have a pen of a different colour. tell them to put their hands behind their backs. read the sentences one by one, first student to find the sentence and circle it gets a point. ideal for the listening part of the lesson.  a fun activity to do in the last ten minutes or so of class. very competitive.

Pokemon Shuffle Game.

My kids had a blast with this vocabulary/writing activity. My coteacher game me the game, so I don't know who the original creator is/was. It's a telepathy game good for period 3 or 4, or 5. I switched up the scoring so that no pokemons scored 1 point, and pokemon scored minus a point.

To play, students read the parts, we shuffled the pokemons, and while the music played, the students made their choices and wrote the sentences in their notebooks. The game is after the date andcl class objectives.

Fun!

I am transferring to a new place for second semester, and I believe the students will continue to study online next fall, so I made PPTs for each lesson for the rest of the book.

I made two PPTs with my voice over for this lesson. I made a similar ones for previous lessons in this book, so I will write the same there that I wrote in previous posts. The PPTs are from the book's website (I think my coteacher downloaded them off of the company's website last year) and I recorded my voice over the slides. The music is royalty free music from  bensounds.com.

If you would like to use this PPT and record your own voice, from the first slide my voice over is the speaker on the right. You can delete those and then record your voice. On the first slide, the speaker for the music is on the left. It is set to play at the lowest volume on a loop for the entire presentation. If you want to keep the music, don't delete the left speaker on the first slide!

Korean English Teachers: you are welcome to use this PPT with my voice for your school.

If you need to change the PPT to a video, you can use the export feature to to convert it to a mp4, however, it doesn't work with all versions of Office. The version of Office must have a subscription in order to use this feature.

Period 4
Ninja Attack Game (team Korea was originally Japan but I changed it in light of the current situation)

Love the game but the trigger on the 'Send the ninjas!' button on the slides after Slide 7 all seem to be broken.

Uploading a fixed version for anyone who needs it.

Sheep and Wolf telepathy game adapted for this lesson. I didn't make the worksheet, but I'll attach it in case anyone hasn't seen it and finds it useful! I was surprised how much my kids liked this game, so a big thanks to the original maker!

I got a few comments from students about what they thought about me after I posted the above skit.  I used it as an opportunity to teach kids not to call people dirty or slow because it doesn't translate correctly from Korean to English.  It seems the only way I can get my kid to engage in class is to have them laugh at / make fun of me...  But hey!  That's fine with me.   :azn:  Hopefully, this can be of use to someone.

For Period 3, I did a comic activity which the students enjoyed. I have attached the ppt I used as a review of the key expressions, an introduction of the comic activity and a comic template. The material has  Korean translations as well to help any teachers who don't have co teachers to help explain.  I have also included a quick 5 minute activity. Hope this is useful.

Here is my edition of Super Mario Classroom Blast! for this lesson.  I've expanded it to 30 questions and removed the slide where the characters rescue Princess Peach, as there may not be enough class time to complete that.  So, it plays just like a regular bomb game.  Much thanks to Georgina97 for the original game.  Happy teaching!
