(2011 National) Grade 5, Lesson 4 - "What a Nice Day!"
« on: March 16, 2010, 02:00:43 pm »
Here are some games that I used last year.  They were successful.
Hope they help.  **The gameboard was originally in a HWP file.  That's why it's a looks a little weird on WORD.

Here are the lesson plans for this.  Sorry they're soooo late.  Hopefully helpful if you're a little behind.  I've reformatted them a little so they fit better.  I didn't check if the dialogue is the same so you may want to listen to it first.  Available for Windows 97-2003 and 2007.

Here's a PPT I made for this lesson, but you can use it in other lessons, too.  The idea is to link the exclamation "What a Wonderful World" with the other expressions used.  Run it a few times first to get a sense of when to click through.

Here are two PPTs that can be used with the "Wonderful World" song above to focus on elements which comprise the "key" exclamations used as a theme in this lesson.

Here are my 'lesson plans' / materials for this unit. Sorry the lesson plans aren't in a very good format, my school is happy for me to just have them as notes for myself.

Sorry for any duplication of materials borrowed from other people on waygook, and thanks for originally posting them!

Here's a bingo game I made for this lesson, it uses the key words from lessons 1 - 4. It's simple because my kids are low level but there's 40 or so words so it should kill a few minutes if you need it.

I used the bingo card generator from www.ESLactivities.c om (great resource, pity it only really works in IE). Attached are 40 bingo sheets in one pdf file (big classes!!), and the call card in another.

I greatly appreciate these. I don't have a teacher's guide, or CD for 5th grade, and even if I did, these guides would save me having to lug it around!
Thank you!
