Phonics - Telephone Game
« on: May 16, 2020, 07:15:38 pm »
Great game that can be used for teaching/reviewing phonics and similar sounding words.

Match each word/phonic with a number 0-9. Student then chant 'What's your telephone number?'

The teacher will say the words, students will write down the number. Then at the end check to see if students wrote  down the correct telephone number.

Here you can check out this video to see how to play

Thanks - this looks good.  I am looking for ideas and that we will be able to play in class when students get back to school - but we can still keep the 'social-distancing'.  This looks as if it is easily adaptable but also interesting.

Edit - I have just recorded this for grade 4 new words with my co-teacher.  We used real phone numbers - the school's phone number, a chicken restaurant and another restaurant.  After we show and check the phone number we show the picture and say whose phone number it is.  Food is usually a winner with students.
