What is a 'real man'
« on: July 15, 2020, 08:25:13 am »
It seems there are a number of different outlooks on what a 'real man' is considered to be. With the vast majority of users on this site identifying as male or actually being male. Lets discuss.

Haven't you got some pictures of birds to be jacking off to, son?

i think it's incredibly trivial. aren't those things you would want all people to do? if so, then what does it have to do with being a man? if not, why not?

A real man doesn't give a shit about any of this "real man" shit. They just go and live their life.

This.

Don't cater to what your family thinks or society thinks. Grow up and do what you think you should.

And man up to your mistakes.

A real man does not bail when he gets a woman pregnant.
The first thing to say is that this is definitely not pyramid selling, OK?

A real man has a username like theman3285 :P

On a serious note, Nietzsche's ubermensch is as close as it gets. A purely active force (as opposed to reactive, weak) - a being possessing that potent combination of unbridled desire and the means/resources (i.e. power) to acquire. Someone with a purely positive and joyous outlook. Someone with the intelligence, verve and brute strength to manipulate the world around them, instead of the other way around. This is the kind of man the great majority of women rightly yearn for.

If there's one book every man (and woman) should read, it's this:

You know if there's one person who everyone should be looking at when it comes to getting chicks, it's the Lothario known as Nietzsche. A man who left an ocean of broken hearts behind him thanks to his many sexual conquests and fulfilling relationships and definitely did not die alone, broken, and insane.

Women aren't suited most of these things because they are higher in agreeableness of whatever it is Peterson says I guess

Lol. Nietzsche never claimed to embody his theory. Do you discredit a sport pundit's opinion just because they've never played/excelled at the sport themselves? That's just silly.

In fact I'm pretty sure Nietzsche himself remarked that he fell way short of the mark he set for humanity. A more worthy role model (according to Nietzsche), is this guy:

DeMartino has insulted Nietzsche and by extent western culture. I must now engage in a 50-post discourse of me saying the same thing but with different words over and over again.

I have no problem wagering a few bucks based on what a pundit says.

But if I'm going to base my life around an entire philosophy, I'd prefer doers rather than theorizers.

I hear you. Generally speaking though, doers are too busy doing to leave behind credible and clearly articulated models for life. Monkeys can lead each other by example, but humans prefer more deft ways of acquiring skills. You're a teacher, you should know this.

I thought this was going to be a spoof but the dude actually went and listed the characteristics of a "real man", in complete seriousness. I hope we get insight into what constitutes a "real woman".
