What's the story behind your screen name?
« on: July 22, 2020, 12:08:51 pm »
I'll start:

'Theman' was my gaming alias when my friends and I had LAN parties every weekend, back in high school. All very tongue in cheek.

As for the numbers, I was 32 when I made this account and I was born in 85. 'Theman' was already taken.

So what's your story? (Looking at you OneNut)

i got my first battle.net ID, poopinacup, from some friends when i was about 9 years old so we could play warcraft 3 customs and brood war together. eventually my dad saw and told me to get a less shitty ( ) name, so "(the)gloob" was born. that said, on this particular website i feel more like a poopinacup than thegloob so if we could make that happen... (kyndooooooooooooooo o)

CO2 is carbon dioxide, which is like monoxide, which is a rapper named Monoxide Child who is in Twiztid.

Twiztid are signed to Psychopathic Records. Insane Clown Posse started the label. They helped me through high school a lot and I have mad love for them, even if I've outgrown their music to a large extent.
The first thing to say is that this is definitely not pyramid selling, OK?

I used to wear a lot of Levi's cowboy-style shirts. Also, I love the BasedGod, and always strive to be #based and seek inspiration from his #rare art.

I don't think we needed an explanation for the "based" part, thanks though.
As for myself, I make my money on my own, yeah

lil b isn't a rap artist, he's a cultural phenomenon (sadly).
now that I think of it, his (often nonsensical) motivational speeches could be considered the origin of the TED talk

Had to look this up!

Kenneth Stoat is ... ugly, unclean, duplicitous and despised, but he is also aware that he is these things and recognises that he brings much of his ill-fortune on himself through his lack of thought and application. He aims to improve but somehow never manages it ... eventually becoming part of the establishment he despises.

Bet dippedinblush will love this. Especially since the last part means you'll be a feminist one of these days

Genuinely never heard of him. I know Lil Jon, but only because he did a colab with Korn.

he's responsible for reclaiming the word "based" (lil b popularized it as meaning to not care what others think, originally it was slang for a crack addict).
he also apparently put a "based god curse" on Kevin Durant which caused him to lose a bunch of games or something

While I was born in Vancouver General Hospital, I spent most of my formative years on Vancouver Island.

I wanted an obscure character from the 80's, which pretty much sums me up. I actually prefer Andre over Hogan though.

As opposed to the rumour of only having One nut, I had just moved back here from Bangkok when I joined this website and I had been living on Sukhumvit 81 and near the OnNut BTS station.  It seemed like something I could remember.

A frog saved my life when I was 17 years old.  In University, I had a friend who always said, "If you are feeling froggy, leap on over".  So it just stuck.  Been using it ever since.
