All about MASKS
« on: July 28, 2020, 01:50:23 pm »
It's interesting that this topic isn't discussed much.

Do you wear a mask all the time in public, or only in certain situations? (Which?)

Are you a mask-on-chin wearer?

Have you tried a bandana?

Do you have trouble breathing or do you sweat more in the summer?

Any acne or other skin problems from it?

How often do you wear a disposable mask before throwing it away?

Do you have one of those washable designer masks?

Have you and yours gone kinky and kept them on in the bedroom?

Etc...

Do you wear a mask all the time in public, or only in certain situations? (Which?) When within 2m or in unavoidable crowds

Are you a mask-on-chin wearer? Yes, pull it up when near someone

Have you tried a bandana? Nope, dental mask in summer, KF94 in winter

Do you have trouble breathing or do you sweat more in the summer? Yes and yes

Any acne or other skin problems from it? No, but stubble gets caught in it sometimes

How often do you wear a disposable mask before throwing it away? Use 2 per week

Do you have one of those washable designer masks? LOL no

Have you and yours gone kinky and kept them on in the bedroom? I have suggested it but she's not having it yet. Give it time
Haven't you got some pictures of birds to be jacking off to, son?

Colburnnn: Complains a lot, very sassy. Has a loudmouth.

Are you a mask-on-chin wearer? usually not but sometimes it slips down

Have you tried a bandana? no and I don't think I ever will

Do you have trouble breathing or do you sweat more in the summer? haven't had trouble breathing but I definitely sweat more

Any acne or other skin problems from it? It's not a "problem" per se but the skin on my cheeks is whiter than the rest of my face which looks weird

How often do you wear a disposable mask before throwing it away? usually like a week or so depending

Do you have one of those washable designer masks? I dunno if its a "designer" mask but I do have a reusable cloth one

Have you and yours gone kinky and kept them on in the bedroom? I dont get laid

Etc...

I tried to get a similar discussion going with my “morons in Korea” thread, but very few nibbles.

My mask policy, generally....

In the home: no (unless visitors)
Indoors anywhere else: yes
Out while moving around around other people similarly moving around: yes
Out and not moving around or around others not moving around (like a cross walk or bus stop): yes
On the bus: yes, and open a window or two, for Christ

Mascne is reeeal

Am i the only man who doesn't shave some work days because, well, the mask is covering 80% of the growth area?

Definitely having skin problems since about a month ago because of summer/sweat/masks

I wear mine when outside around people and inside public locations.

I stopped shaving altogether for a while until I realized that was causing its own skin problems...

Do you wear a mask all the time in public, or only in certain situations? (Which?) All the time in public, unless I am drinking or eating of course!

Are you a mask-on-chin wearer? No.

Have you tried a bandana? No.

Do you have trouble breathing or do you sweat more in the summer? I have a little bit of trouble breathing when it is very humid and I am walking outside. I don't think it causes me to sweat more, but I am a person that gets a lot of head sweat in humidity anyway.

Any acne or other skin problems from it? No, but I know of others who have skin problems because of it.

How often do you wear a disposable mask before throwing it away?  Three days tops. It is mostly because my makeup gets on it!

Do you have one of those washable designer masks? Washable yes, designer, I don't think so. This summer I have been using these PITTA masks from Japan. I first bought them in Thailand in February and I bought some more when I returned to Korea. They aren't made for viruses, they are more for yellow dust and the package says UV, but they are good in hot weather and I wash them.

http://global.gmarket.co.kr/item?goodsCode=1500494022

I am next going to try out this EQITA. I suppose at that price point, some would consider it designer. I just want some color and some more protection than the PITTA offers!

Have you and yours gone kinky and kept them on in the bedroom? Now you are giving me ideas!

On the bus: yes, and open a window or two, for Christ

It's lucky you added that final comma...

I stopped shaving altogether for a while until I realized that was causing its own problems

Those problems being, who you were being mistaken for? (some words were omitted)

Mask wearing in public and at school.  I don't wear it in my classroom when I'm by myself, but if I go and see other teachers it goes on.
My school gave me a pack of 50 of those dentist ones a few weeks back.  So I wear one every three days when I am in my small city or as I went to Seoul last Sunday, that gets discarded as soon as I get home.
I noticed that after a day, the nose wire bit will be a bit dirty, but not sure if it's my snoze.  I use those pore strips a couple of times a week to combat any dirt from the rubbing.
I shave on Sunday and Wednesday and have a good bit of stubble after a couple of days, but I'm not tempted to shave less.  I use a mask pack after shaving to keep my skin in good condition.
Will make sure if it came to it, I would play the 'Covid-19 patient/Nurse' roleplay as often as possible.  'Have you got any respiratory problems?' 'Oh, I have now!'  'Wut?' 'You took my breath away'  'I'm leaving'

I kept getting mistaken for a teenager with poor grooming habits. Only half is true.

 https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/30/opinion/coronavirus-aerosols.html?referringSource=articleShare

Quote
Wear a mask. Masks help block aerosols released by the wearer. Scientific evidence is also building that masks protect the wearer from breathing in aerosols around them.

When it comes to masks, size does matter.

The gold standard is a N95 or a KN95 respirator, which, if properly fitted, filters out and prevents the wearer from breathing in at least 95 percent of small aerosols.

The efficacy of surgical masks against aerosols varies widely.

One study from 2013 found that surgical masks reduced exposure to flu viruses by between 10 percent and 98 percent (depending on the mask’s design).

A recent paper found that surgical masks can completely block seasonal coronaviruses from getting into the air.

To my knowledge, no similar study has been conducted for SARS-CoV-2 yet, but these findings might apply to this virus as well since it is similar to seasonal coronaviruses in size and structure.

My lab has been testing cloth masks on a mannequin, sucking in air through its mouth at a realistic rate. We found that even a bandanna loosely tied over its mouth and nose blocked half or more of aerosols larger than 2 microns from entering the mannequin.

We also found that especially with very small aerosols — smaller than 1 micron — it is more effective to use a softer fabric (which is easier to fit tightly over the face) than a stiffer fabric (which, even if it is a better filter, tends to sit more awkwardly, creating gaps).

Avoid crowds. The more people around you, the more likely someone among them will be infected. Especially avoid crowds indoors, where aerosols can accumulate.

Ventilation counts. Open windows and doors, for Christ! Adjust dampers in air-conditioning and heating systems. Upgrade the filters in those systems. Add portable air cleaners, or install germicidal ultraviolet technologies to remove or kill virus particles in the air.

It’s not clear just how much this coronavirus is transmitted by aerosols as opposed to droplets or via contact with contaminated surfaces. Then again, we still don’t know the answer to that question even for the flu, which has been studied for decades.

But by now we do know this much: Aerosols matter in the transmission of Covid-19 — and probably even more so than we have yet been able to prove.

I wear a mask all of the time in public. I am a chin wearer if and when there is nobody around me. If I am coming within maybe 20 yards or so of someone i slide it up until not by people again.
Never have tried a bandana. I sweat more in the summer, but it's not a huge deal. I only have trouble breathing if it's hot and i'm peddling my ass off on my bike or after i'm jogging and trying to catch my breath. No acne or skin problems from it. I wear my disposables for a day and toss em. They are like 8,000원 for 50, it's not a big price to pay. Never have used a washable. No mask during sex, or ever in my home. We are eating and kissing anyways, if one of us had it the other would get it anyways, as we spend the whole weekend together every weekend.

I don't think people are suggesting the mask during sex for safety reasons

Do you wear a mask all the time in public, or only in certain situations? (Which?) - Whenever I leave the house, unless I'm just taking trash out to the street.

Are you a mask-on-chin wearer? - sometimes, but not often.

Have you tried a bandana? - nope

Do you have trouble breathing or do you sweat more in the summer? - with my cloth material one I sweat a bit more and have difficulty breathing a little if I'm walking fast.

Any acne or other skin problems from it? - nope.

How often do you wear a disposable mask before throwing it away? - just 1 outing and throw it away when I get home.

Do you have one of those washable designer masks? - I have 2 washable masks, but they aren't designer, just a plain light blue colour.

Have you and yours gone kinky and kept them on in the bedroom? - nope, and not interested in a mask kink.

Whenever I go outside, unless I'm at the track (usually about 3 other people there and at least 60m of social distancing

Are you a mask-on-chin wearer?
As far as I'm concerned, you either wear the mask properly or you don't. In the same way, you wouldn't half wear a condom

Have you tried a bandana?
No

Do you have trouble breathing or do you sweat more in the summer?
Particularly on Tuesdays, where I teach 6 classes and have to run between homerooms.
I do suspect that regularly breathing more carbon dioxide isn't great for the teeth. I wear undershirts.

Any acne or other skin problems from it?
Not with my skin routine.

How often do you wear a disposable mask before throwing it away?
I keep one in the car and one at home (for going to the shops), I usually replace those whenever they start to get a bit ripe. I use a new one for school everyday

Do you have one of those washable designer masks?
No

Have you and yours gone kinky and kept them on in the bedroom?
No

To be fair to the “chin-wearers”, it’s probably just a convenient place to store their mask and have it ready for when they really want to wear it. A lot more convenient than storing it in your pocket.*

*Of course this does not apply to those who wear it on their chin in all settings.

I am not surprised no one here has worn a bandana or kept the mask on in bed with a significant other.

15+ years of experience here backs this impression.

*sigh*

Oh well. I just hope the chin-wearers of masks aren't those who step out of elevators or walk past me on the street. Hell too many of those!
