As for being an individual teacher in Poland, schools require way too much grammar in my opinion. To help children learn more effectively, I like to teach them the subjects they're interested in. If someone likes programming, then I do my research and I organize conversation topics about programming, such as what language is learning, how long, what would he/she like to learn in the future etc. Some are also really interested in music and fortunately music is my pet subject. I ask them to try to review their favorite songs, artists or concerts they've attended. Thanks to that they learn the necessary vocabulary and are able to state their own opinions. What do you think about this method? From what I can tell kids are pretty happy about this
