Mainstream pop music you enjoy

True music lovers are able to find something to appreciate in any genre.

Gwen Stefani (particularly her days with No Doubt)

Cardigans (First Band on the Moon and Gran Turismo)

MJ (Shamone!)

Blondie (Probably more Pop-Rock, but it was mainstream)

Bruno Mars (Not all of his stuff, but there's no question, this man understands music)

Eurobeat (Ok, I'm kind of cheating here as it's not mainstream or strictly pop, but it's cheesier and more corny than most pop music out there. Still, I can't help loving it since I started listening to while binging on Initial D episodes years ago. Running in the 90s!)

Daft Punk (More EDM, but they make it into the pop charts, so I suppose they're pop. I've learned quite a few things from them on how to beat and groove, since I'm not a drummer)

Dua Lipa has her charm, but I don't put it on actively. Most pop I have and put on is Pop-X, like Electro-Pop or Pop-Rock.  I don't really go for performers, per se, I go for groups who play their own instruments, and there is pop that does that, but it's much more the Alt/Rock/Indie space that does this.

+1 on bruno mars, daft punk, and dua lipa. some THICC funky basslines coming out of all 3. i think pretty much all the pop music i really like has that in common

'First Band on the Moon' is a great album, but it was a 'together with a girlfriend at that time' kind of thing and difficult to get back into.  :sad:

It was in 2006.

It continued to be in Spanish/Latin pop music thereafter.

Songs I like:  (just looking on my phone.. songs I've played a lot within 4-5 years)?...its just random...according to my phone i' ve played these a lot...they are pretty mainstream i think

I love music and I don't know if there is mainstream music or not. What tonos de llamada mp3 gives me is a fun and engaging history.

that are giving you LIFE for the week.  Songs old or new....perhaps an explanation for some of them....

I would love to hear about people's rando songs for the week!  Is it just me?  We could introduce and celebrate songs we love to one another?

I still haven't felt the need to use Spotify or understand how it works. I buy/download my music, make my own playlists and listen. Maybe I'm a grandpa.
