(I guess I have a semi libertarian streak myself.  I am not a full on one though as I still believe in some government.  Anyways, let folks do whatever if they aren't hurting anyone else.)

I mean all libertarians believe in some government. People that believe in no government would be anarchists

I turned down a scholarship to the PhD program at Western University (Ontario, Canada) because it was in political philosophy with a prestigious but extreme libertarian head professor, whose arguments were pretty good i thought but predictable, tiring. (Instead i took an offer to an M.A. program in informal logic & critical thinking, waaay more interesting with room to breathe.)

I ended up calling it quits on political science myself thanks to one particular professor. His courses were fantastic subject-wise, but his classes were terrible (dude had a massive inferiority complex and had to keep his office door open at all times for... reasons).

I was a Philosophy undergrad. I took only one course from the PoliSci dep't and it was from a young prof working on his Oxford doctorate and he was the biggest jerk i'd ever seen teach uni. Over half the women dropped his class, he had an unfiltered opinion on everything. I guess it was interesting, but it was often rude. In hindsight, he was speaking HIS truth, as they say these days.

I did Philosophy as my minor. Took all my courses with the same professor since the requirements were pretty lax. Sorta wish I had tried for a double-major or something and done something else for my minor but in retrospect I dunno if I would've handled the workload well anyways.

We did have one other PoliSci professor who was great, really old dude who had worked under a Supreme Court Justice during the Reagan administration or something. I took a class with him even after I dropped PoliSci just for the experience
