I really don't understand why people don't just leave things that are in decent condition outside.

You're gonna got through hours and hours of posting and messaging and waiting for strangers for 80 bucks over 15 items? Just leave it outside and people will take it.

Or have an open house on Facebook with your local wayg group.

"Hey, everything in the picture is for barter. Come by and we can haggle, I'm easy, I just want it gone. I'll be home from 3-6 on Thur and Fri."

One post, no messaging dozens of people. Easy. The 10 000W you get for coat hangers is not the make-or-break hassle you need to live comfortably back home, ONE WOULD HOPE.

gotta get on that grind  :afro: 8)

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, thank you for reminding me!

I bought a kilo of Colombian coffee grind in January. I weighed it just now and I have 400g left.

I paid 10 000W for it, so.............. carry the 1.................. ... market value would be 4000W.

I kept it in the freezer, sealed, so it's really fresh. So, let's say, 5500W?

Pick up only, this Thursday between 11PM and 1130PM.

Thanks!

Also, I'll even throw in a 5L Anyang City compost bag for free! (value 250W!)

Yea, the selling of half used toiletries on FB is mind boggling. my time is worth more than the few thousand won i would get for it, when you factor in the messaging back and forth and then the hand off.

Sometimes there are great things. I got a set of Cobra MT-975 walkie talkies
of some woman in Suwon for 10,000won.  They are like $70-80 online.

Marmite is nasty even unopened - to the lowest depths of Hades with it! D:

ew. I don't even know or wanna what that is, but I'll compare it to a jar of peanut butter. I would not buy an open jar of PB from anyone. however, if someone I knew offered it to me I would consider taking it.

I was regularly disgusted by how low and cheapskate-like people would go.

I sold my oven and my car when I left. I donated pretty much an entire 1 bedroom furnished apartment's worth of stuff  to a local church which passed it out to the poor.

I'm always amazed at how much furniture and stuff is thrown out at my apartment building. I'm pretty sure one of the previous teachers got the furniture from the trash pile. and as much as I'd love to replace it other newer trash, I don't get there in time to see the good stuff. someone comes by with their truck and takes it. I also am not willing to gamble if it has any pesky bugs.

It's even weirder when they try to sell these used items at like-new prices, lmao. Or for more than they'd originally purchased them for in some cases... and we're not talking about rare or hard-to-find items, either. You could literally buy them in Emart. It's funny how common this is.

Unless it's a high-dollar item, I don't bother trying to sell. I either give it away or leave it on the curb, and someone always, always takes it. I'm not about to go out of my way to pocket 3k won, lol.

When I'm ready to finally leave Korea, I'm just going to do what CO2 said and have an open house, then donate or give whatever's left over away. Used toiletries and food are just getting thrown the **** out.

It isn't craigslist but there is an app called carrot (당근) that is similar and I have seen a ton of shoes, bottles of lotions, baby formulas, hangers, and some other weird things on there

IMO Craigslist seriously went downhill when they removed the personals.

There was some seriously weird and dodgy stuff on those listings.

My friend furnished her entire apartment from stuff that was put out on the sidewalk, including a pretty decent computer, fridge, TV, microwave, bed, cupboards and sundry other items.

I don't doubt it! I just wish whoever dumpster dove for this stuff they had a better eye for what to bring in.
i also don't have any help getting the bigger stuff out to get something big in, like a couch. not to mention i'm outta here in 6 month so, meh.
