I was perplexed when i first came here and couldn't find a "poster store" or at least a store with the latest...

in college i had a malcolm x poster on my wall to show i was a really cool dude  it made my roommate from the bible belt go full "reeeeeeeeeeee"

I bought reproductions of paintings when I went home (originals were too expensive and the repos look just as good). They aren't in frames, I just use transparent pins to hang them up. The paintings are reminders of home so I have paintings/drawings of:

Kalk Bay Harbor
Bo-Kaap
A King and Queen Protea
A beautiful painting of a leopard in the wild
 
I took the advice of a YouTuber that makes travel videos who suggested to buy local artwork for each place you visit as it's light and cheap to pack and an actual souvenir that can be displayed instead of simply chucked into a drawer and forgotten about.

I had a Sly and the Family Stone and a Rollercoaster (Korean acid jazz band) poster that really tied the room together.

When I was 15 and 16, I had lots of 'black light' posters. I can't remember all of them, but i do remember the one with 2 vultures waiting for something to die, and one them saying to the other something about 'patience my dear...'

I never had any posters, that was a luxury my parents weren't willing to pay for, and I wanted to spend the money I made on my own (mowing lawns and collecting cans) on other things.

I had a couple of wooden art thingies that my mom had received from a friend while we were stationed in Germany, though. They eventually fell apart because life.

I remember two posters from my childhood room: one of the first 150 Pokemon (I was obsessed around the Gold/Silver era), and one of a manatee (still my favorite animal).

In college, I had the exploding TARDIS painting (from Doctor Who).

Nowadays, I just have Nanowrimo (yearly writing challenge) posters on my wardrobe doors. They had a cool steampunk-y design last year.

A lot of my friends do Nanowrimo, I somehow never find the time to actually get into it

It might be harder for me this year, too - everything's going to be online and I just got pets and go to a kickboxing class now - but if you do find some time, you can just do an altered version of the challenge! Some people just change the word count goal, or try to write a poem a day. We call it being a "rebel."

It's just nice to have a specific month dedicated to trying to find the time to write a decent amount every day. Lord knows I haven't written anything substantial in a while... I might take a month hiatus from phone games and see if I can get my husband to do more chores just for that month (and probably do the same for him a different month of his choosing).

I dated a guy in high school with black light posters in his room and they were all magic mushrooms and pot!  I thought he was so cool haha~! His mother also had velvet posters all over the walls of Elvis Presley and his mother....She also had various "glamour shots" of herself...posing in various states of undress in her bedroom!
