I taught middle school in Korea for two years. I'm looking for a Nov start date. Busan or Seoul is where I prefer working. All my documents are ready to go. An email, resume, and photo can be provided upon request.
Don't teach in Korea, come on. You want to fly half way across the world for minimum wage ? And if you do, DON'T USE A PHUCKING RECRUITER.
Honestly...go to Thailand. It's possible to enter right now, but at a great expense. You'll earn roughly the same base money (with plenty of opportunity for privates), with less than half the living cost. And you'll probably have your pick of schools if you can get into the country. There's also China. Possible to enter as well, significantly higher pay than both...but also a great cost barrier to entry.
What? You can't be serious? The amount of misinformation in that post is mind boggling. You will not earn roughly the same base pay and you will not not find many privates that pay well. And as far as the open Thai border goes...https://www.bangkokpost.com/business/1988811/special-visa-provisions-prompt-tat-inquiries

Literally from the same website...if you're planning on staying in Thailand for at least 3 months, you'll be able to get an entry visa soon...hence the statement at a great expensehttps://www.bangkokpost.com/business/1987315?cx_placement=article#cxrecs_sThese jobs don't exist you say? Those jobs are exceptional and when I lived in Thailand outside of international schools bait and switch was a normal practice. As in, if all of these impossible conditions were met you could make that amount. Here's one I just took of Ajarn.com https://www.ajarn.com/recruitment/jobs/135727/kindergarten-teachers-in-bangkok One of the higher paid ones and the quals. to get it are more than what's required here. You also pay more in tax in Thailand and to make 45,000TB a month would be a great salary for a Thai but unless you want to live like a Thai that's going to go fast. I made 40,000 TB a month in 2004 and I never saved. And the cost of living has gone up a fair bit. It's fine if you just want to try living in Thailand for a year. I'm at 3 million a month here and I do want I want (admittedly that hasn't included big nights out in Seoul for a long time) but I always save here. And I stopped doing privates altogether because they were wearing me down. https://www.ajarn.com/recruitment/jobs/135667/head-teachers-teachers-in-bangkokKRW2.1mil = USD1895...THB50,000 = USD1610Hold on a minute...you mean there's more?????https://www.ajarn.com/recruitment/jobs/135670/full-time-native-english-teacher-in-thailandAgain...KRW2.1mil = USD1895...THB50,000 = USD1610The world doesn't revolve around Korea...other countries are catching up or have caught up completely, some have even surpassed Korea.
Outside of rent and boozing in touristy bars, which other monthly expense in Thailand could possibly eat into your salary?
Unless you're in Bangkok or one of the saturated tourist cities (pattaya, phuket etc), 40k thb is more than enough to live comfortably...unles s you want to stay in luxury condos or mansions and eat western food everyday. I know people living by western standards on their 40k thb, depending on where they are.Outside of rent and boozing in touristy bars, which other monthly expense in Thailand could possibly eat into your salary?
A Thai wife.
