Going back to your home country!
« on: April 23, 2021, 05:32:40 am »
Just do it!

If you think about moving home more than living in korea then just go.

Seems like everyone these days is crying/procrastinating about leaving. If you have to take a crappy job so be it. Whining about it won’t help you. A Korean hagwon pays the equivalent to a Canadian/American McDonald’s anyways so suck it up!!

Leave or stop talking about it!

Sounds like someone wants less competition for future jobs.

I think this message would resonate more if you went and posted it on whatever site or place where it "Seems like everyone these days is crying/procrastinating about leaving."  Doesn't really strike a chord here unless you forgot to write Hangook77 in the post.

holy shit... i actually agree... with kimduhan?? there are definitely some people that seem deeply unhappy not being in their home country (perhaps they are fixated on how their home country has X, Y, or Z). now maybe they aren't actually that dissatisfied and just enjoy griping in general (fair enough i guess). but for the people that are truly dissatisfied... they should probably just go home instead of constantly comparing and complaining
more gg more skill

1. Criticizing Korea and pining to go home has been a constant in the ESL community since at least my first year in 2002.

2. It's harder than ever to go home now. For example, the need to COVID19 test three days prior to departure to Canada, again tested immediately upon arrival and mandatory 3-day gov't-specified not-cheap hotel stay awaiting test results (all costs borne by the individual, gov't estimated at $2000) followed by mandatory 14-day quarantine at one's own home (if you have one or family) or a hotel,  not at a room-for-rent one-month rental nor with chance to go apartment hunting.

3. Hang out less with whiners and/or change the topic of conversation.

I see dippedinblush's thread triggered you so much you had to go and make an entire separate thread to complain about it, lol
