If you are coming for the experience, so be it.  Come on over. But know that Korea has a high living cost in relation to salary.  Most academies nowadays have a low rate of pay.  If you are looking to pay off debt other places pay more.  Anyway, come over but just know before hand.

I can't help but chuckle.

Is Korea the new Thailand, in terms of awful pay?  Granted, ,Im not Thailand's number one fan but...at least most there know who the Rolling Stones are (were).

Yeah..fly on over to Korea for your minimum wage job.  While you're at it, trust every recruiter you talk with...especially the ones that post on Waygook. They are all legit,, honest and just awesome.  They are looking out for you, just like the employer...you'll be considered a real teacher.  You will never have to worry about NOT receiving legal benefits, as Korea is known for honesty, fairness and its moral approach.  It has always been self-sufficient, stood on its own, never been dependent on riding on the coattails of others, has a progressive culture in which is very valuable in the world, the least racist country in Asia, excellent and fair journalism and has lead the way in historical contributions.  You'll have an excellent career path waiting for you and if you are sexually harassed, even if you fabricate a story,  you will certainly receive your due attention and folks will believe you.

..cough, cough.

Many Chinese salaries nowadays are almost double what many average Korean employers are offering plus free housing and flight reimbursement also.  If you find 20,000 RMB to 30,000 plus RMB.  Plug that amount into Korean Won or your home country's salary and then compare to your home country's currency.  Either 1.5 times your potential Korean salary to double it, I should say.  You also would have a cheaper living cost outside of the tier one cities.  Come to Korea if you wish.  But Korea's current wage conditions would not have allowed me to pay off my student loans or any other debts.  Thankfully, I came when the same salary was worth much more with inflation and a much then cheaper living cost calculated in.  I wouldn't be able to make it now on that.  Recruiters say things that were once true but no longer are such as making or saving lots of money.  You can save about 500 dollars US compared to 1500 dollars US on the same salary 12 or 13 years ago (2.1 million won).  With inflation, that 1500 US dollars, is probably closer to 2500 US dollars in 2021 money.  So, saving about 500 US dollars in 2021 money, young folks coming here are definitely getting ripped off.  Math is math.  Go to China and you can save that amount and much more.

Yes, it makes perfect sense to travel half-way across the world with the expectation that the people there will be into the exact same shit as where I am from, and if they are not, I will hold it against them. That's a perfectly non-sociopathic opinion to hold.

Also, it's 2021, might as well be whining that the kids are listening to, well, The Rolling Stones and not Glenn Miller and Bennie Goodman.

Have you always been?

They've also never invaded anyone either.

What have you contributed? Are you one of those idiots who think that because some guy that was born 200 years ago in your country invented something, that somehow that reflects on you? What about slavery? Oh what's that, we should move on and that was in the past and you had nothing to do with it and shouldn't be blamed? You want some kind of group credit for shit in the past but not group blame?
