Online radio is a great new service that allows you to listen to the radio through the computer instead of a conventional receiver such as you would be in a car or a house. Online radio uses the same technology as regular radio stations to transmit their signal. Online radio can be downloaded for free and usually requires a one-time fee to use the service. There are a lot of advantages to online radio, but there are also some disadvantages. One of the main advantages of online radio is that you don't have to switch radios at work or at home to listen to your favorite radio stations. Online radio simply means listening to radio on the web. Online radio is not transmitted over AM or FM, rather transmitted directly from the band to your computer. This makes online radio a good way to hear classical music because you can literally listen to it right where it was made. However, broadcasting a web station is different from broadcasting a traditional radio station. Traditional radio stations play all of their programming through their local radio stations. Because they have signed contracts with specific radio stations, these stations are the ones that the programming will air. With a web radio station, you can choose which radio station will play your radio show and any other stations that might be great for your preferences. You can even listen to a station that only plays hip-hop and rap every day!Another great benefit of listening to online radio stations is that you can listen at your leisure. Unlike radio stations which you have to drive to a station to listen to, you can listen to your radio shows whenever it fits your busy schedule. You don't have to get up early in the morning to get to work because you want to hear hip-hop when you first wake up. With online radio stations, you can take your lunch break, take the kids to school, and even take an afternoon nap without missing a beat. Because the technology is available, there are many ways to listen to your favorite music, whenever you want.Another great benefit of listening to internet radio online is that you can upload your own songs to keep your programming fresh and new. If you are at radio stations, you know that song selection may be limited. You also know that once a song is on the air, it stays until it's canceled by the radio station or the producer decides it's no longer of interest. However, with online radio, you can download whatever you want and then listen to it whenever you want. There are downsides to online radio. You must have a computer with an Internet connection so that you can listen to your show online. It takes up a lot of space on your hard drive and you might find yourself downloading your programs more often than you don't like listening to them. Also, if you move to a new location, you will need to find a radio station to listen to, close to where you live. Also, if you are traveling with the family, you will need to make sure they can listen to your radio shows when you are away from home. Overall, this is an easy way to access music and keep in touch with your favorite radio stations.
What a strange post. Nonetheless, I'll take the bait. I like listening to online radio because I'm a Boomer and we grew up with radio so it's nostalgic. The pleasant buzz of nostalgia. That's my benefit. I love listening to NHL playoff games on the radio. The announcers are so much better than the live play-by-play guys.
