Thank you for modding and thank you for your contributions to this forum, but I disagree with your deletion of the above post. The poster took his time to type his feelings on Bill Maher, and it's a respect to his time making the lengthy post to leave it up. Is there an undelete button?

There dozens of political threads where one can leave one's feelings about some random celebrity's political leanings.
Political discussion on waygook is like Zerg creep, and the only way to prevent it from smothering the entire site is by the judicious application of fire.

That said, in the future I'll try to move comments to pol threads rather than immediately reaching for the flamethrower.

Now excuse me but I have to go build additional pylons.

I would agree in most cases, but not sure a thread that's sole purpose was "gotcha" needs to have its integrity protected.  But with plenty of other threads I'm fully on board. 

Not arguing that it was the most intelligent addition to this thread because that's objectively true, but I'm gonna stick to my guns about it being off topic.

Posting a video that invites people to think of and discuss politics in a thread about, uh, dick pics is clearly off topic.
Although, gotta say, it's probably a whole lot better than a video of dick pics in a thread about politics... 

Although, as another poster mentioned, maybe this thread is not the hill I want to die on. Go ahead and derail this thread with intelligent opinions: I won't do a single thing to stop you from this point on.
... but don't come crying to me three pages of nuanced political discussion later about how you miss OP's wonderfully original and lighthearted topic!
