There are several beaches within minutes of Jeju City, so no matter which part/side you're on, you can dip yourself in light blue seawater every morning....

I lived 7 years on Jeju Island, and never had a day of regret. I left simply for something different: to experience a new part of Korea for me.

My daughter and son-in live on Jeju and the constant wind drives them crazy. Also it snows heavily in the winter, and rains heavily during other seasons. The tyhoons are also a problem. So many smash directly onto the island, causing damage and flooding.
Coupled with that, the streets and beaches get so crowded with tourists. Even getting home shopping deliveries from the mainland cost an arm and a leg. My daughter gets stuff delivered to our place, then we send it on by post.
Not a place that I would want to live.
