Life's to live! Live! Breathe. Relax. Enjoy. Animals teach us to focus on family, friends and avoid danger. Get what you need and get along with others. That said, some rock the boat, but they know capsizin' it means they're sunk. Some sink, let's swim! The sea's big, great, but has undercurrents.

Any website of planes is cool by me, but I do love the roar of a fighter jet. This is the F-104. One of the bases I lived on had a few squadrons of these and its sound is unmistakable and seared into my memory. The deep thunderous roar followed by the scream as it passed overhead. The most beautiful jet fighter ever built. The F-104 Starfighter.

The most beautiful prop WW2 fighter: The Spitfire

The most beautiful bomber: The Lancaster

Those three planes in formation look and sound like CGI, but ain't.

I was at two Abbortsford Airshows, a festive display of Canada's best. They compare to your vid.

A friend asked me "Why would you go out of your way to watch planes fly?" I said "If you see it, you believe it." Gravitas.

My dad flew on Lancasters after the war doing patrols over the North Atlantic. I remember at the Shearwater, N.S. Air Show they had a Lancaster and a Spitfire that you could go and check out. You could climb up and look into the cockpit of the Spitfire and actually go inside the Lanc. They flew in formation as the show closed, moving on to another air show. My dad was crying. It was incredible and emotional.

Van Islander, you should read this book. It is a real adventure page turner. Scrappy has stories, man. There's a picture of him presenting VP Nixon with a stainless steel F-104 after receiving some medal or award. I have one too. I've never seen another one. My dad got it helping out the USAF in Baden.
