Hi! I have my documents just about to be apostilled and am looking to start in December. Ideally a position from December 2021 - August 2022 is what I'm looking for. Thanks!

I won't tell you to lie and say you will be here for a year.  You do what you will do.  All contracts are minimum one year and you will not be hired for less, especially from outside Korea.
I can see.  I can see.  I can see....

I agree that looking for a less than a year contract from abroad is not likely to get results.  But, it is not true that all contracts are for a one year minimum.  It may be that to initially get an E2 you need to do a one year contract, I don't know. But I do know that I switched jobs having an existing E2 and having completed a full year to a new job that was 10.5 months, and that's what what was on on my contract and how immigration entered it and put it on my ARC.  I also know a friend who was on a D10 and didn't want a full year and got a six month private elementary job.  And to be clear, neither of those jobs were a case of agreeing to a year for immi's sake with the the understanding we would finish early.  The contracts were written that way.  My 10.5 month job even paid me a prorated severance which they were not legally required to do.  It was a hakwan.
