Congrats on reaching your goal ahead of time Kayos. Yeah...the cravings! My hobby is baking. I won't stop baking, but it makes reaching goals a little more challenging. I made a cream sponge cake, a huge loaf of (white) bread, and a batch of sante biscuits, on the weekend. I also did no training. Fair to say, I fell off the wagon, after such a good past 5 weeks. Nevermind, back on the literal bike today.Edit: Good luck with your visit to the hospital. Hope it's not more than physio.
1. Take the stairs, instead of the elevator (yes, even 5 floors with shopping bags: weight resistance training. Hit the shower when you arrive).2. Walk if your destination is four blocks or less. (You ain't in that much of a hurry.)3. Clean your home with a broom and mop instead of vaccuum. And scrub that bathroom!4. Wash your car if you have one, with brush and cloth not car wash machine discount.5. Ride a bike somewhere you need to go instead of taking a motorized vehicle to a building to pay to sit on a stationary bike.Tips to be more active, save money and build cardio.
definitely fucked up my hamstring or something yesterday while deadlifting. it didn't hurt at the time, but i can barely walk today... yay! normally i just keep going with these kinds of things but it happened (much less painfully) like 6 weeks ago so maybe it's time to really rehab this before i permanently break something (hopefully its not too late!)
Good advice.A fellow lifeguard told me he never took the elevator because they caused heart attacks.
I was a certified lifeguard for years. Missed the part about elevators causing heart attacks.
I'm pretty sure he's being facetious. Just taking the 'you know what' out of Van Islander.
Its actually good advice to take stairs instead of the elevator. Walk instead of driving. Bike instead of driving. Do what you can to get in more exercise. Most Westerners are overweight. That includes most Westerners teaching English in Korea. The Koreans teaching English are not overweight, generally speaking. But the foreign teachers are.
The majority of male western teachers I know here belonged to and went to gyms.
I just ran through my head and can recall eighteen different Korean English teachers at my public schools over the years. None of them exercised
And how about female western teachers? Best not to exclude them, seeing as how they are the majority of western public school teachers. Overall, most western teachers in Korea are overweight. Definitely. Do you not come into contact with many? Think of speech contests, teachers visiting your school from an English village, etc.
Were they overweight? I bet they werent. Maybe due to Korean genetics? And/or healthy eating? And/or mountain hiking?
Maybe not by far, but a bit over 50% are women. More men apply due to more desire to be / stay abroad, as women are more likely to want to be near lifelong friends and family but women are more desired by employers, so they have a big leg up in the hiring process.
