... covid should die out eventually like all other viruses and plagues in history have done.
Several viruses have been with us for thousands of years. Everything from the always-adapting "common cold" to the seasonally-adapting flu to STDs.

What about when they won't collect the data?
What studies have done this?

It's actually a pretty good sign of an individual not understanding the scientific process.

Unless they are getting some *serious* money for doing so, no scientist is going to deliberately fail to include data. If it doesn't immediately destroy their career upon peer-review, it certainly will destroy their reputations down the line when their academic dishonesty is **inevitably** discovered.

A great example would be the recent change of heart of several prominent climatologists who were very vocal against anthropogenic climate change. Although they recanted their statements and positions, I doubt that their careers will survive their admissions of falsifying/cherry-picking their data. Mr. Steve Mosher comes readily to mind.

If covid is raging a year or two from now and the vaccine can be tweaked and made safe or safer, I may consider taking it then.

Winter is coming.

Just got my booster (sinovac) shot.

Was hoping it would be the new mRNA one developed here, but it seems the Chinese government are still running trials for it.

The new variant seems to be an excuse for why the vaccines are failing miserably.
“ hey but I got the clot shot”

“Oh this is the new variant.”

Why didn’t mRNA pass trials?

I mean presumably they tried it on animals.  What happened to the animals?

I know the studies are public.

Boosters presently are based on vaccines developed to combat the original virus, not agsinst evolving kinds that are resistant to it, like the widespread dominant Delta variant.

And now the Omicron variant.

The omicron variant is more transmissionable and avoids antibodies more effectively, and after less than a month since it has been detected, is already in Hong Kong, Australia, Belgium, Germany and Israel, as well as the widely-reported 8 African countries.

Will there be a variant-combating booster shot? Or just pump more of the same from the original batch.

It would be hard to say one person is fully vaccinated and another is not based on the fact that one got a booster that clearly doesn't stop the new variants!

….based on the fact that one got a booster that clearly doesn't stop the new variants!

The intent isn’t to “stop”.

It seams that the vaccines are less effective, but not completely useless.

There may never be "fully" vaccinated, just degrees of protection.

So, calling some people fully vaccinated and others not, and BASING social policies that discriminates/privileges one over another, may be wrong.

Especially since the likelihood of spreading it should be of social concern, the likelihood of serious illness and death more of individual concern.

Given the infectiousness of the variants among the vaccinated and booster shotted, masks and social distancing ought to remain for the foreseeable future.

Use FULL safety methods: cover it up and stay a bit away.

The world has changed. There is no going back.

It is time to invest in designer mask companies! Get in on the ground floor. One of my students has a major league baseball filter mask and it was the talk of the room.

Leaf Mask. The first-ever FDA-approved clear face mask!

Sweden has also developed one.
