What about Covid?
« on: December 06, 2021, 12:15:16 pm »
How come no one is talking about Covid anymore?  Aren’t you all concerned about it?  Or are you finally admitting that you all never really were afraid, but just following like sheep?
Bonzai!

Are you kidding? I've been in the closet the last two years. I'm terrified to come out.

This is an odd statement for someone living in Korea to make considering we've been pretty much semi-open for well over a year and the only big change has been the removal of the 10PPM curfew and increased dining numbers. Other than that life was relatively normal.

In fact, this seems so wildly out of touch it makes me think the person writing it isn't in Korea at the moment.

When you turn 40, the Korean National Health Service recommends getting an endoscopy.  Free of charge if you don't mind the gagging and creepy feeling.  Or pay if you want to be put unconscious.  I chose the latter and got the butt scopy at the same time.  Had to pay for that one too.  But good to get er done.  No stomach cancer.

Here's some Covid news:

"Former President Trump came in contact with more than 500 people between the day he initially tested positive for COVID-19 and his eventual hospitalization, according to a report by The Washington Post.

He came in contact with people either in close proximity to him or at events, according to the report. The number, however, doesn't include people present at his rallies.

In the time following the initial test, Trump did not take extra precautions such as mask-wearing or social distancing as preventative measures for those he came in contact with after the positive test on Sept. 26, 2020, the Post said."

he was doing his best to keep his numbers up, but it was the number of dead he was helping increase.  Possibly doing so up close and personal.

More Covid news;

"Since May 2021, people living in counties that voted heavily for Donald Trump during the last presidential election have been nearly three times as likely to die from COVID-19 as those who live in areas that went for now-President Biden. That's according to a new analysis by NPR that examines how political polarization and misinformation are driving a significant share of the deaths in the pandemic.

NPR looked at deaths per 100,000 people in roughly 3,000 counties across the U.S. from May 2021, the point at which vaccinations widely became available. People living in counties that went 60% or higher for Trump in November 2020 had 2.78 times the death rates of those that went for Biden. Counties with an even higher share of the vote for Trump saw higher COVID-19 mortality rates."
