People need to let it go when it comes to rock and also accept the fact that they've gotten old and they might as well be their grand/great-grandparents whining that no one likes Artie Shaw and Glenn Miller anymore and upset kids are listening to long-haired British weirdos and negroes from Detroit.
It's less about rock and more that pop has gotten mundane and lacks any originality. It's auto-tuned and over-produced to hell. Oh what's that? Another trap beat and reggaeton?
Dee Martino probably thinks digging at pop is also a dig at K pop. So, he gets triggered. Never say anything negative about Korea. But, as I said, there are some popish music I do like.
Nothing like hearing WAP at ten.
Yuck! What a disgusting song!
The problem for me is that I no longer listen to radio whereas back in Canada the gym had it on and we usually put it on in the car and even work at low volume. And with no record stores to while away the hours and no Much Music/MTV I'm just not exposed to new stuff anymore
I have spent this day listening to the recent Billboard Top 100 and the two I liked I heard last summer?!
yeah, the only new music i get is from music blogs, or occasionally if an album gets a lot of hype/discourse on social media i'll give it a listen, like the new kendrick. i have yet to listen to jack harlows latest one but apparently its bad so i might not botheri dont mind much of what plays on the radio because its background noise to me anyways (unless its something horrifically annoying like that one tones & i song thats been on repeat for like the last couple years) if youre looking for good music i wouldnt necessarily expect to find it on the billboard top 100, lol. the music that plays the most isn't necessarily the best music, usually just the most catchy/inoffensive. dumb shit has been playing on the top 100 for as long as radio has existed
No, it's called being an old man and time has passed you by. Being upset over today's music is one step away from yelling at a cloud.
Seriously. If you like good music you'll pretty much avoid the Top 40 and Grammy winners. Usually the Grammys don't recognize innovative music until long after they've been around or when someone in the band dies. They're not on the cutting edge. They love artists like Bruno Mars, John Legend and Adele. Not saying they're sh*t, just very mainstream.
i dont think he was saying anything about korea either, lol. oldheads exist everywhere and the boomerish attitude people take towards rock (a lot of rock frankly wasnt that great) is pretty noticeable in the states
Not "an old man" but thanks for playing. You keep enjoying the music on your Top 10 Spotify/iTunes lists.
