New to Waygook, man didn't know there was drama on the forums like this haha. Also on average, how old are most of the posters on here? I'm a new teacher myself, so early 20's but it seems like a lot of folks are quite older as well! Nice to have a good cross-section of different people on here.

all the rest of the young bucks are out on their facebook groups and kakao group chats and reddits and whatnot. im not a big fan of any of those so here i am lol

also, im not sure what average age on k*rshare is, but id guess its probably somewhat younger than here

Thank you for this post, I often wondered what motivates him to be so objectionable. This world is so full of hate already, we don't need another person to perpetuate it.

Perhaps he has SMS or poor self-esteem, who knows?  I just wish he would stop and try to be nice, but I am not betting the farm on that.

There are two types of people in this world that I can't get my head around. His type and people who are always look around for ways to get offended.

You may be in the looking around for ways to get offended category if you take anything Chimp says to heart.  He comes on and stirs the pot and adds some colour.  Not sure how anyone could get offended or be bothered by what he posts on here.

Who can be bothered with more than one place to go to talk about day to day life in Korea?  This place is more than enough for me.

Anytime I've checked out the chat function on Kshare it's been like the happiest place on earth.  Doesn't matter how uninteresting your comment is to the group at large someone will comment positively or sympathetically, depending on what you're looking for.  Not my cup of tea but if you need a safe space it's there.  Not speaking directly to you Sticky, just a general add on about kshare.

kshare is full of vibrant young go-getters looking to be the best teachers they can be.  its an excellent source for actual lesson plans with substance and pinache. waygook is where i like to read about all the dirty bickering and mudslinging.  its more fun.

The way to deal with Chimp is to simply ignore him.

Besides, it's just an obvious troll attempt to get a rise out of everyone. Yawn.

So, he's competition?  He can be funny, though.

I am not offended by his posts, but his comments are uncalled for and in poor taste.

Definitely good for lesson plans.

It' has the kind of chattitude in the open chat where someone might say "I was able to read the menu at KImBap Nara all by myself today." and people would be congratulating them and eagerly sharing their first time they were able to communicate in Korean stories.  Here, someone might say "I was able to direct my taxi driver completely in Korean.  So proud!"  and the response would be along the lines of "Who gives a f*ck?" and "Keep it to yourself noob."  I know which side of the coin I find more fun.

It seems like anonymously attacking people on SNS is a sign of desperation
and exasperation with one's situation in life. I guess the author thinks
posting negative and derogatory remarks will alleviate their low mental
state. I don't think it does, though.

$15-20 a gram. What is that like compared to western countries?

I am so going to get baked when I am there. Like freaking industrial bakery baked.
