-Marmite _Meat pies
Korea has come a long way in becoming a global success andmoving toward being multicultural and cosmopolitan. Damn, whenI first arrived there were demonstrations against letting foreignersin the country to teach English. However I think Korea is still Koreanregardless of the NETs and McDonald's. Some things just haven'tcaught on here, though.
-Mexican food-bread (I'm talking rye, Russian black bread, sour dough etc.)-cigars (China is now the number two consumer of cigars)-deli meats-tampons-Captain Crunch-flat sausage
Please don't remind me of meat pies, Scotch pies, pork pies...
This is one of the reasons I took up bread making...lack of variety. There was a Russian bakery down the road some time back...owed by a Korean, staffed by Russians, with gangsterish looking Russians sitting around the tables all day. I saw some black rye as I was passing, stopped in and bought a loaf. That'll teach me...it was white bread with added molasses and god knows what else, to make it look like a heavy russian rye. I should of guessed when it nearly floated out of the bag, it was so light.
Ketchup chips. All dressed chips.Dill pickle chips. Pal O mine chocolate bars.
The narcissism and subtle bigotry in all of this is really remarkable.- The belief of the OP that he is in a position to render judgment on a country and people's progress and should be the arbiter of such things- The belief that progress should be measured in things OP enjoys and the implication that something is "wrong" because some of those things haven't caught on. The country exists for his pleasure.- This statement: "However I think Korea is still Korean regardless of the NETs and McDonald's." 1) There's more to foreigners and interchange than NETs. 2) OMG, the unmitigated gall of Korea to still be Korean. What's wrong with them? How dare they! And? Who gives a shit? They have zero obligation to like such things and you should have zero expectation or disappointment that they don't enjoy them. "I'm going to travel and live halfway across the world in a completely different culture and be upset that people don't enjoy the same things I enjoyed back home."Who thinks like that? What is the point of traveling? "I'm going to move to Korea and be upset with them for not liking Captain Diabetes+Mouth Shred in a Box" What an utterly selfish, childish view of the world.
Emart, years ago, used to stock some frozen Aussie meat pies. Was happy days!

BTW, you can also get ADHD medicine in Korea now.
Since this thread does have innocent underpinings, let me try and show OP an example of how to write this without being a bigot and a narcissist-"There are things we all enjoy, both here and back home. Just as some threads have talked about things we'd miss from Korea if we were back home and wish they were there, what are some things from back home you wish were here?"Readily available store-bought fresh salsaFish species back home that aren't readily available here (Walleye, Perch, etc.)Jimmy John's and QdobaBell's Beer (Surprised they haven't tried to crack the Korean market like other microbrews back home)
This website is not designed to be your safe place Martino. Stop trying to censor everyone.
We all got the direction the OP was going in. "Things I miss from back home".
My local Lottemart has Lays now. Salt and Vinegar, Cheese and Onion. Onion and Sour Cream. My one weakness.
