But of course I would be further away from K-pop and kimchi. So screw it.

Fighting!

They probably left a zero off it.

I spent a few weeks in Chang Mai and I was surprised  at how cheap luxury accommodations were in 2009 there. You could get a top-notch place for $300 u.s. a month. No wonder I came across several U.S. military veterans who married locals and brought their pensions to town, buying nice homes.
Life's to live! Live! Breathe. Relax. Enjoy. Animals teach us to focus on family, friends and avoid danger. Get what you need and get along with others. That said, some rock the boat, but they know capsizin' it means they're sunk. Some sink, let's swim! The sea's big, great, but has undercurrents.

The crazy shit is I pay over twenty times this amount for my mortgage
and apartment fees in Korea. For what? A concrete box in a country
that is too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter and just crowded,
expensive and stressful all the time.

I am glad my wife is onboard about living in both Korea and Thailand
when we retire.  She loves Thailand and she really loves apartments
like the one above. We will keep our apartment in Korea, though.

But 2009 is a different world.  A large Singha was 35 Bt, it's 95 Bt now.

The very same site a few listings down lists the very same apartment with the very same pictures at $850/month.

You're paying for the convenience of living in Seoul and all that comes with it.

That whole Cohiba rule thing...

So basically a case of beer would pretty much equal the rent on a 2 bedroom, modern apartment, overlooking the sea.
If you believe that, you might as well write a letter to Santa.
