The ABSOLUTE stupidest TV shows
« on: October 07, 2022, 07:47:47 am »

I've seen some real clangers recently, but these two shows
are an insult to brain cells:

"She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/She-Hulk:_Attorney_at_Law

"The Bachelorette" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bachelorette_(American_TV_series)

I haven't seen those two shows (saw one episode of The Bachelor years ago, and that was more than enough).

I want to say The Real Housewives, but I could never get through half an episode despite trying a few times; i suspect it's like Teletubbies for hairdressers in New Jersey.

Two certainly:

1. "Deal or no Deal."
I've often loved Howie's humor as a stand-up comedian, but hosting this mindless show wasn't enough to keep me watching, though I gave it three full episodes.

2. " Jerry Springer."
Way back when, we had no Internet and our home no cable TV, so with 2 channels I sat through several Springer episodes and the shocking "He's your father!" and women screaming at each other got old fast and I realized the form may have been like Phil Donahue (who tackled social issues in an insightful way) but the content differed greatly.
Life's to live! Live! Breathe. Relax. Enjoy. Animals teach us to focus on family, friends and avoid danger. Get what you need and get along with others. That said, some rock the boat, but they know capsizin' it means they're sunk. Some sink, let's swim! The sea's big, great, but has undercurrents.

...any show that revolves around stupid-ass women.

Then again ,Entourage was a mental-drain.

The Bachelorette and Real Housewives know that they are low brow, lowest common denominator trash, and that's fine. I think the stupidest shows are the ones that appeal to midwits, because they think they are smart. The Big Bang Theory, Bill Nye Saves The World, Trevor Noah and John Oliver's shows spring to mind. An intelligent person can enjoy the Bachelor for what it is, but no such person could stomach that midwit garbage. .

Didn't he finally get booted from the show he ruined, because all he was a flaming leftist who had nothing to offer.

At least John Stuart was not only funny, but intelligent.

The Maury Show. The paternity testing has the potential to be entertaining, but not on every episode.

People like John Oliver, Trevor Noah and Seth Myers are for midwits. That's why I watch intellectually stimulating people like Candace Owens, Brandom Tatum, Mark Dice, Stephen Crowder, and of course, Jordan Peterson.

I gave Trevor Noah about a week, but it quickly became obvious the "humour" was of the "I agree with his progressive views, so it's funny" variety. It was clear Jon Stewart leaned to the left, but he dissected things intelligently, skewered the idiocy of CNN regularly and was funny across party lines.  I really enjoyed John Oliver's show when he it first came out.  But then he got pulled into the Trump thing and every show had to start with another Trumpathon.  It was funny at first, but then it just became a constant obsession and I drifted away.  Haven't watched it for a couple of years.

John Oliver's biggest fan is himself. He just gets annoying.

ah man,  I really like seth meyers!  its fun a goofy. The day drinking segments, when he has his family on before thanksgiving, the staff inspections...  its wonderful and enchanting. Any bit he does with Samberg or Mulany is just wonderful. I think you should give seth a second chance.

Lol. You misunderstood Wheygook69's point by taking it literally.

He contrasted liberal comedians with ultra-conservative pundits who are: election deniers, anti-vaxxers, gender identity refusers, a couple of accused racists and several racism-minimizers, conspiracy theorists, those who light the wick of dimwits (who wouldn't be caught dead listening to midwits).

Read again (google is your friend):
